Gear is TOO important

In endgame, whenever you wanna get to a new tier of gameplay (be it higher tier waystones, more mods, more mod effect or more juice) it always feels like you need gear from that level of gameplay in order to be strong enough for it.

What I mean is that there's no way to gain power outside of gear, since everything seems like it multiplies gear instead of giving you a baseline power for safety, and on top of that, farming in the endgame feels AWFUL if you're not yet at t15 maps.

I know an endgame rebalance is coming, but man, we need a bit more ways to get free power to get you there when you're piss poor or have no crafting currency.

Well, it was like that since poe1 - most builds were just impossible without some specific uniques or gear stat weight

I wouldn't mind if they will change that, but they wont, dunno why.

That's not his point.
In PoE1 you can level gems and passive tree gives a lot more power. You can do content and get stronger just by playing.

I agree 100%. The philosophy that the tree should be a multiplier for gear and similar is a huge factor in the wildly different experiences people are having. The floor is lower and the ceiling is higher because of it. Imo, the tree and skills should be the baseline of power since those are the things everyone is guaranteed to have access to. The gear should be the multipliers that you're stacking on top to become OP.

Especially in last league when before mapping everyone had 6-link.

Gear should be the most important aspect of the game.
