Rename POE 2 so it is not associated with real POE.

POE2 was a great bait and switch for sure which irritated me. But I've grown fond of the possibility that POE1 players that leave for POE2 is a good thing and POE2 players who come and try POE1 as a result of the similar names is a good thing as well.

The players that enjoy the different versions can stick with the version they like. I'll ride POE1 until the wheels fall off. POE2 is.....not for me. That's the nicest way I can put it. So POE1 is where I play.

That being said, I struggle with spending money now because I'm all but positive that it will disproportionately go to the game that I don't want to play. I've not landed on an answer on that particular problem.

I mean Path of Exile 2 and Path of Exile are both PoE games. No different than any other genre, where things like movies share the same name, even if one is different than the other. Even in gaming you have this and right within the Arpg genre.

Going from Diablo/Diablo:Hellfire to Diablo 2 was just as dramatic, if not more, than the jump here. They were still both Diablo games.

No reason, other than some personal bias against PoE2, to do this. If you don't like the game it would be best to not play it, rather than to try and push an entitled mindset on the devs. In the end it is their place to name their IP's whatever they choose. Not for anyone else to decide and objectively they are both PoE games.
