0.4.0c Hotfix 15

Imagine if all existing and soon-to-be-built Perfect Temples were integrated into the permanent server. In that case, the activity level on the seasonal server would decline, as working players would choose to farm temples in the permanent server due to limited time and the reluctance to start over slowly on the seasonal server. If the next season’s mechanics offer lower rewards than the Temple, players still on the seasonal server would feel a sense of disparity, gradually leading them to stop playing the game altogether. Therefore, the Temple must eventually be reset. As it stands, the current existence of the Temple only gives new players the impression that this is a game reliant on exploits and shortcuts. I hope GGG will focus on the future rather than the temporary spike in player engagement data, which may be short-lived.

Finally, credit where it’s due — thank you GGG for crawling back to the right solution with this Hotfix 15. It’s really appreciated that you listened and reverted the problematic change to Juatalotli’s Medallion after the backlash.

That hotfix dropped on a Friday and really messed up most people’s weekend plans, especially for those of us who were planning to farm temples and make progress — it felt rushed and unplanned and ended up killing a lot of hard-earned progress from days of play.

It’s frustrating that it took major community outcry to fix it, but now that it’s been addressed we’re looking forward and ready to get back into the game with more confidence. Please keep listening to player feedback as you refine these systems. Thanks again!
