I played warrior, sorc and ranger this season. Here is the comparison
|
I played a smith of kitava with leap slam and bone shatter.
I played a stormweaver with spark and frost bomb. I played a deadeye with tornado shot and lighning arrow It's mindblowing how underpowered the warrior is both defensively and offensively. Oh, well and also on the mobility side of things. It's a pure slog. There is no saving grace here. It's an atrocious gameplay experience You can make the sorc work decently. The massive ES you can build makes you super tanky, which allows you to survive any encounter without much issues. The mana consumption is off the charts which limits your dps quite a bit, the forced builder-spender playstyle makes it feel like a chore to play. The ranger. Well, the ranger. Has it all. Massive movespeed, insane dps, massive aoe, no builder-spender nonsense. Lackluster defensively but it really doesn't matter, just slap a bit of ES onto it and you're good, you will shred almost everything before it can get to you. Especially the comparison between warrior and ranger is crazy. With comparable investment I got to work my ass off to kill bosses with the warrior while the ranger just two-taps them. I have to hop around like a rabbit to painstakingly clear the map with the warrior while the ranger just nuke the entire screens with a press of the button. I crawl like a snake with the warrior, while the ranger runs around with 50% extra movespeed. Despite tens of thousands of armor and thousands of health I get one-shot by slams as the warrior, while as a ranger I just off-screen that big bully boss. Early access can excuse a lot, but this level of imbalance is crazy. Why do you hate melee so much GGG? I assure you it has nothing to do with warrior or melee but how you built it specifically.

Brother, it definitely has. I am not talking about viability. Melee is viable, it just doesn't even compare to other playstyles or classes. Come on, post the screenshot with the 100k+ armor and tell me how viable it is lmao. Meanwhile you blast through t15 maps on a ranger for an investment of 2 divs or so lol.

" 100K ? thats it? Pfft The other archetypes are faster yes, but when you say things like " Or " Its paints this picture as if you barely even tried warrior. But played the other specs. You should post your builds or update your ninja(you dont have one) Mash the clean

" What something costs is a player driven thing.... bringing up what things cost just means you don't understand economics and has nothing to do with how builds function. Less people play those classes so there's less items floating around people have upgraded out of so people aren't fighting their way to the bottom to before they vendor it. I largely agree. Sure almost anything in the game can work if you get into the hundreds of div gear investment but most ranger builds work extremely well way short of that - plus if you start investing into the high div cost of gear it still scales well. Also lets you slot in a lot of MF very easily.
My homebrew arc stormweaver is rolling along pretty well but it took a lot to get there. |

" warrior is slow and underpowered. camparing with other toons, the worst is the warrior, but this is not matter of "best" and "worst", it is a matter what character the player identifies with... I played Warrior up to level 94 and deleted it because I didn't like the slowness. as well as the cost to creat a playable warrior is high as hell. I have Infernalist 98, Blood Mage Bleed Light Spear 96, Another Infernalist 96, Wolf Druid 95. Comparing gameplay and other aspects, Warrior is the worst character in the game for me because it's slow. The skills are bad. And it's not about the damage; the skills are bad because they're slow. What I learned from this is everyone's own conception of what's better and worse. This standardization and copying of builds isn't what many players want. I created all my own builds, and they all worked well. As I said, I stopped playing warriors because of the slowness; they were a Stamp Ice Warrior Bringer. I don't copy builds or watch streamers. That's not playing. My Infernalist minions kill everything in seconds, and it's not a meta build. My Blood Mage, in some cases, with one hit of Bloodhunt, takes 50% of bosses' HP. My Druid turns bosses into fruit cocktails... I'm playing Druid non-stop to get at least level 99, even with its flaws in the game, due to HP and defenses. Up to this exact moment, I haven't seen anyone on this forum or in the game saying anything good about Warrior. The slowness of this character is a curse. https://imgur.com/q7FPyQW Last edited by KaiserBlade42#7840 on Jan 11, 2026, 11:21:16 PM

Uhh... most of the stuff screenshoted are standard characters. Theres 1 fate of the vaal character.
A lot has changed for warrior specifically for armour since the last couple of patches. Armour applied to ele is a godsend. Really makes a disgusting difference. I get the speed difference, 100% absolutely. Warrior is slow. Heavy armour/Shield big hulking guy. But when you say their defenses and offenses are underpowered, I genuinely disagree. The cost to make it depends on the skill or playstyle. In general comparison though, to make an equivalent powerful spell caster or druid. Youll spend less on warrior. It really depends how you build it though. But for me for example This:
Spoiler
![]() Is immortal. And didnt really cost anything. Everything was 5d or lower, and then I guess I splurged on like 4k armour for a min/max 30D brass dome. And a barely better 15D shield. Is it slower than other archetypes? Yes Can I just stand in everything though? Yes Mash the clean

" What are you talking about? It's 0.4 on all leagues, only things the seasonal league offers is a fresh economy and a season in advance in league content, that's it, the rest of the game is the same. Tech guy Last edited by Warrax#2850 on Jan 12, 2026, 12:28:34 AM

Warrior isn't bad, but it certainly costs more to build it to the equivalent of a ranged class. It's also takes a bit more dedication to learn to play versus ranged. Even then, it's still slower.
