Why are map bosses more difficult than pinnacle bosses and the current league mechanic's bosses?

(I know the answer, because like every other change, the "map mods are always negative" change was entirely untested and poorly conceived).
That said, lets discuss even though we all know the answer already. It's pretty hard to die in the temple. Presuming you have some sort of attack that bounces off of walls and AOEs in small spaces, even very dangerous temple mobs can be killed from a doorway pretty easily. Every juiced T15 map boss in this game is more difficult than the architect and Atziri. Most map bosses are more difficult than T3 king of the mists. " bro, the entire league is "not" Literally everyone is just running towers with the "all points accessible" tablet, running a map long enough to find their two temple crystals, and leaving them unfinished. My atlas is 90% "attempted" maps that I'll never return to. It really says a lot about the incompetence of the designers of this game, that they have rendered the core mechanic of their franchise (maps on an atlas) obsolete. | |
" Yea this is probably true for you not for everyone else. Just fyi, you dont get crystals from a map you already ran. Once you close a map, and its not finished with the boss dead, the next time you run it there will be 0 mechanics in it. Mash the clean

I don't feel map bosses are more difficult than pinnacle bosses. Maybe specific juiced map bosses might be more difficult. But map bosses in general are pretty easy.
In fact the only map bosses I would consider difficult is Zelina & Zolin, and Count Geonor. And there not really diffcut. I just haven't figured out how to reliably dodge and defend against certain attacks. Last edited by darrenrob82#3531 on Jan 28, 2026, 10:00:35 PM

I would not say that map bosses stronger. Instead i would say that some of map bosses are bugged and broken and should be avoided if you play HC.
Digsite boss can kill you postmortem and he tries do it almost every time. Boss is dead but screen-wide AoE he leaves after death (that have visuals less than 50% of time) with a safe zone will most likely kill even tanky build. Cenotes (and Ice Falls) boss (tornado bird from Chaos Trial) - can delete tankiest of the tanks if allowed to go into tornado mode (always bugged) and shoot feathers. Dealing ungodly amount of damage per second to it does not always help, it can simply go "F... it! Tornado time! FU player!" |
