Having to start over every league is what keeps the game interesting to me. I think you are in the extreme minority on this one.

+1
I always find it baffling when folks write posts like "Why does the game have to reset" or "why can't standard get league material?"

Are these serious thoughts? Do folks truly not understand the game they are playing to that fundamental degree?

The first one is truly ridiculous, because its spelled out that when you choose to play a TEMPORARY league....it ends. If you have no interest continuing in Standard, then the second you choose to create a character in a league, you have lost any right to COMPLAIN about the league ending and you being "unable/unwilling" to continue.

The second one is antithetical to the entire "league" design, and makes zero sense as a rational idea. The entire point of GGG (and other games) running LEAGUES in the first place is that they offer new and unique content which attracts players to that mode, over the other modes that do NOT have that content.

I'm sorry....but I just can't wrap my head around the fact that folks can even write these types of statements in the first place.

Starting anew....with PoE 2

i am tired of investing time into a character only to start over next league. after several years of that it gets exhausting.

if we could transfer a solo self found character into the new leagues i would come back.

i was in the same spot - took 1 year or less break from poe (plus i disliked the leagues i missed) and now i enjoy the game again.
i did play in STD SSF for a while (partly cuz my stash in ssf is less messy) and when i saw a good league i came back to league.
i get how boring it can become to start it all over again every 3 months or so, probably you play casual and not fast like me, which limits the joy in leagues, but you can focus on different aspects in different leagues such as:
-delve in STD /SSF or not/
-juiced red maps for fun in STD /after league end or just like that with ready character/
-in new league when feel the mechanic is too good to wait or miss
-whatever if got guildmates to co-op, who can also boost your fun even the boring league cycle
> but take a break or just enjoy STD with changes even if it means to wait for Mirage mechanic, gl
Slow down for a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.

Then this kind of game is not for you unless you want to play in standard. Either option is fine.

In my opinion, Last Epoch has a more balanced approach to this. Standard gets league content but some of the things are reserved for league players only. Both can co-exist together in their own bubbles.
