Endgame map tower themes.

Imagine if each tower was more like a nexus for each tablet type.
A nexus for the Abyss, Ritual, Breach and any future add ons. Maybe the red chaos Tower would drop irradiated tablets. Completing one of these main tower nodes would reward us with many Tablets for that type and points for our Atlas tree for that type. Surrounding areas could also have a trait to the maps that could reflect the tower it is closest to. For example the Abyss nexus surrounding areas contain abyss holes and cracks, The Abyss tower map itself is an Abyss themed map. The endgame map Abyss tower could instead depict a green abyss hole and cracks in the ground. An in-between area between towers could be generally neutral but tablets could be used to modify them. Adding Abyss tablets to an already Abyss map would heighten the effects. This is intuitive and gives players a strategy & Agency for which towers they want to acquire based on their favorite tablet & enemy or what their build is adept to. " I need to go back and see what that version was like, I edited the post and changed a few things. |

" When completing a tower you could add up to 3 precurssor tablet to it to influence all the maps around with whatever mechanic you wanted. Was great! SSF player

ah interesting, that is pretty good. In a way that goes against the plot of the endgame for cleansing corruption from the lands, instead its like magnifying corruption for fun hahaha

As you can see people didnt like it why it's gone =)
I'm expecting a massive change to everything in end game tbh so i would wait and see for proposal after 0.5. Wouldnt be surprise they remove the atlas as we know it atm completely. SSF player

There's a vocal minority of people who play this game who are too sensitive to what they're not getting - see all the backlash that original towers had where you could influence surrounding areas with tablets.
People were upset because they felt that in order to play the game at all, they needed to scour across the infinite atlas until they came across areas of multiple tower overlaps, because not doing so was an inefficient use of tablets and juicy waystones, which would hinder them in the trade economy. They felt that if they didn't do this, they would be economically disadvantaged compared to other players who were doing it. There's a bit of merit to the argument but it's largely a psychological issue. Either way, it basically presented a scenario where perceived optimization = decreased fun. That's why people hated towers. They hated that the towers made them have less fun. So if towers are going to get another go-round functionality adjustment, it can't be something that juices the waystones around it because it will just bring back the original issue. Part of the problem is that the towers showed you which nodes would receive the bonus - that's what enabled players to deterministically add "juice", and what localized the optimization opportunity. I think to fix the original issue all they had to do was make it so you didn't know which maps would get the tablet bonuses - it could have been any node you had revealed, rather than within a radius of the tower. I think people would have been more excited to see a tower if that were the case. As long as you had some juiced up nodes to run, you wouldn't need to seek out towers or even overlapping towers. Multiple towers would just mean less traversing for them to make sure you always had some juiced up nodes to put your waystones on. Right now we basically have full control over the juice but it makes towers feel completely useless and tablets clutter my stash. We'll see what they cook up for 0.5. Endgame might not resemble anything like how we have it now in the slightest. It's fun to come up with and discuss ideas though :) |

It kinda makes sense why they would change it if the RNG was unfair. I’m not suggesting overlapping tower mechanics in this post.
I like how capturing the tower provides vision of the area right now. I don’t think endgame needs to revolve around towers, but they are nice. |

Yeah i never really understood the problem at first.
I have 1 tower i go there, put my 3 tablets, have fun around. Sometimes there were 3 next to each other, was fun to prepare them and i took it as "i'm lucky there are 3". It's how games works, sometimes you're lucky, sometimes less. Wasnt stopping me from anything. But yeah, people were mad because they wanted 3 towers all the time and never, ever, only 1 tower lol It is what it is, i go with the flow now =) But yeah we need way more tablet now cause towers were influencing a lot more than 10 maps and we really need a stash tab for them :D I'm very excited and curious to see what we're getting in 0.5 SSF player Last edited by BlastYa#4875 on Feb 19, 2026, 10:24:22 PM
