I can't let this go: Why is Keepers going core?

Hello,

i think there are reasonable arguments why Keepers should go core. First of all, there is Breach and Breach can't just disappear. They reworked it and not everybody likes the new version vs the old one, but just removing Breach from the game is not a valid solution imo.

Second of all, even though there is a campaign going on vs things like tree and Kingsmarch right now. Many players like these things and the items they get from it. It is a fair system comapred to some scalable ground loot that only gives good items if you play gigajuiced maps in a party.(of course that doesn't mean they shouldn't make ground loot more appealing)

If hope this makes you see a different perspective, it is not all that negative. I think the numbers and retention also isn't that bad considereing that poe 2 EA is out and the numbers still were somewhat close to 200k on league start. Poe needed many many years to crack the 200k milestone and with the new game you can expect palyersa to go down jsut a little bit again, but i still think the are plenty of players for poe1 which is a positive thing, imo.

regards

No, Kingsmarch is not fine, because it's mandatory (passive resource generation) as in you're simply losing out on currency per hour if you don't engage with it.

Trade league (the most popular game mode) is a pvp environment, meaning you cannot just "not care" about Kingsmarch unless you want to have a weaker purchasing power than other players.

So every. single. league. one must set up, engage with and maintain Kingsmarch daily. Farm gold or buy gold rotations on TFT for it, etc...

It's funny at this point that some players just refuse to admit or understand this. If the game was balanced around SSF then sure arguments could be made, but it is not, and never have been.

And for the genesis tree... they better remove provisioning wombgifts altogether, and make the foulborn items drop from monsters/bosses in maps.

Affliction, Necropolis and now Keepers are the worst leagues ever. Loot-shower fest, chase uniques too available, stacked decks and valdo boxes are a flawed design, and now the genesis tree handing out overpowered items hence invalidating several farms and crafting avenues.

i haven't been in kingsmarch since 3.25 and have made more than enough currency to fund all of my builds.

if you don't want to interact with the tree, then you can buy gear from those that do, just like every other mechanic.

Holyyy... Genuinely mindblown reading that post. Nail in the coffin, I'm done trying to help this game.

Enjoy /thumbsup

dont act like you are trying to help the game. you just have a case of FOMO regarding kingsmarch which is a YOU problem only. trying to take away something from others because of a YOU problem is quite selfish.
like the other guy said kingsmarch is not mandatory, just ignore it if you dont like it unless you suffer from fear of missing out in which case thats a YOU problem. not our problem
Kingsmarch is fine, I only ever send a few shipments for divs to Kalguur early in the league then mayyybe save up for a big mirror shard shipment 1 or 2 times and then ignore the town.

I don't have atlas runners because I don't make enough gold to sustain them, and I don't care. I make enough currency to buy all my gear and anything I could ever want every league.
Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.
When the first argument is retention, all validity of the post goes away for me.
Lots of us play 1-3 weeks REGARDLESS of the league, and trying to retain us beyond that is a fools errand.

What matters for our retention is: going on holidays, available vacation time, peaks and lows at work, family events, other games launching etc. All things outside of GGGs control (ofc they can time their launches, but if they delay they seem to piss people off as well, so, loose-loose I guess).

Anyways, guessing you still think the game is great, since you cared enough to write this feedback. Hope you have fun in the coming league.

It’s quite simple to sustain at least one set of map runners, even as a casual player, given the generous amount of gold the game provides early on. With modest engagement, maintaining two devices and partly three is entirely realistic.
They function as a steady engine, converting over sustained gold and maps into consistent passive income.

But stepping back, the overall message feels somewhat mixed. On one hand, you say you generate enough currency to buy all your gear and anything you could want each league. On the other, you describe items as too expensive, mention that carry runs consume most of your hard earned resources, and imply there is little room left to invest in progression.
It also comes across as using item prices as a reason not to build alt characters or further refine your current one to reduce deaths and improve performance. Those positions don’t quite align.

Perhaps it would be worth giving runners another look next league. It’s a solid starting point to generate more currency, and a good way to branch out and learn more about the game.
It’s worth it~

I would just really like to actually spend all of my currency on gear upgrades instead of being forced to buy uber boss and t17 carries every league.

Yes meta builds are absolutely too expensive for the average player, which is a category I fall into.

Why we need to block unwanted content instead of enabling content that we want? If we remove "mechanics base chance to appear" it can solve the problem. I proposed this thing some time ago.
My 3 dimes:

There should be regular breach which does what old breach did.

Remove Ailith, only have forts on rare occasion (loot rain is fun tbh). Remove those stupid walls. My juiced blight maps get absolutely EATEN by this cancerous breach.

+ the tree should only be about grafts and slamming breach uniques (grafts add extra benefit and thus is meaningful to progress with tree, but not too OP to be a complete top priority).

The tree that prints 6 linked perfect rare items really is just too good to not do it. Ground loot ? what ground loot, i have tree mommy that provides.
