PoE has devolved into a glorified farming simulator.

It's literally the same game from years back except the difference is now you get to farm significantly longer to get more upgrades, unless you're in TRADE league, which is why most of the remaining players are playing there.
1) Repeat step A to B until X loot drops 2) Repeat B to C until X loot drops 3) Repeat C to D until X loot drops Once you get to W you realize you've wasted a week so you can do the same content for X minutes quicker, which is why Zizaran upcoming Gauntlet is the sole reason I'll be logging, since the farm objective lasts for ten days and then whatever you can get by then with the choice of build you get to challenge yourself through increased difficulty so login time isn't the only factor, which is much better than easy mode to farm for four months for Delve. Outside the Gauntlet no wonder the playerbase is clueless who were the best PoE players through 3.28 alongside the Phrecia event, because most saw how Earthshatter trivialized the boss kill and other competitive events. 3.28 amplifying farming to a whole new level through exceptional gems and using the mirage currency on additional skill gems, which become corrupted and before that they need to be 20% quality. Now, you'll also need to target farm different leagues that each will give something your build needs and then Heist farming still exist, so you get the idea why SSF players are disappearing. Now, when they're finally done making the desired glorified simulator my hope is they'll deliver a competitive game that most will want to participate through the holiday season. On a side note quickstep received 200% CD in Ruthless... amazing. Last edited by Kopogero#0635 on Mar 2, 2026, 10:54:08 AM Last bumped on Mar 4, 2026, 9:39:09 AM

The entire point of PoE and ARPGs is grinding for upgrades. Criticizing that is like criticizing CS2 for having shooting.

ARPGs have always been "farming simulators." That is what they are, people trying to add competitions and races, end up doing more harm to the game then good. 99% of people playing the game just want to slaughter stuff, and get sparkly stuff.
Very few people should want the game to be balanced around what high end "racers" use to kill bosses in a week or under competition. Because it has nothing to do with several month long leagues, or SSF. Please take your "competition" nonsense back to the other games it has ruined, because there isn't a single one that it has improved the state of the game. |

GGG experimented a lot with the game by adding contents that are not typical for pure ARPGs.
Like Harvest (crafting simulator), Blight (Tower Defense), Kingsmarch (RTS) etc. I hate these words, but "GGG make farming great again"! Go back to the roots of the game. Last edited by xaerobb_#8468 on Mar 2, 2026, 11:56:39 AM

" Just my 2 cents, but aren't all RPGs the same ? Like diablo 2, diablo 3, Torchlight ...isn't the philosophy around all the rpg's to repeat stuff ? At least PoE gives you more to strive about, like divination cards, chase uniques, they balance stuff around something...I mean every game is do a and b a and repeat a and b till you reach c...A permanent loop to solve your lack of time investment... If this loop is booring to you, maybe try to touch grass, maybe do something to stimulate yourself Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

How dare a developer design an ARPG to do the thing that ARPG players play ARPGs for. Real artistic expression would have been to design an ARPG to be a pvp board game simulator.

Anybody want to be the one to tell him why the company is "Grinding Gear Games?"

(grandpa mode on) "When i was little we used to kill Mephisto over and over again for days. The same level, the same Boss, nothing else." cough cough

" I loved cow levels, I dont know why. |

thats how they get u to keep playing and get their recurring revenue. if u dont like grinding go play the new resident evil, or cyberbunk, or cod/bf. all games with economies rely on grinding.
