So the Bastard remake/update is right around the corner. I finally caught the JP PV Netflix Japan put out. Definitely not sold on the voice for DS but I think the original is a very hard act to follow. That aside, it'll have what it needs: good music, great supporting cast, adequate-to-occasionally-good studio, and 24 episodes rather than 6.

I'm about 60% hyped. It won't be a Fate Apocrypha level event, but it'll probably be less demanding of our forgiveness as Record of Ragnarok was. Both had absolutely stunning casts, but only Apoc had animation worthy of them. If Bastard is comparable to LIDENFILMS' other recent remake, Blade of the Immortal, I'll be a happy camper.

I will expect an ober the top action flick and hopefully decent animation, I do remember some missteps of the concerned studio in the past. with a shudder.

also honzuki foray into bodice ripper story territory had me laughing half the episode. I get that its a josei but come on^^

Seriously though, I've started to recognise Seiyuu more and more frequently. Not that I could remember their names mind you, my memory regarding names is still AWFUL at best, but I do recognise the voices and what other characters also sounded the same.



In other news, I got to watch Belle on a big screen this week. I think it was overall a good movie, but the ending was rather lackluster. A lot of story points were not addressed in the end sadly. However, I'd still recommend it for the visuals and soundtrack alone. Those were absolutely breathtaking. I still can't get two of the songs out of my head.

Watched Mindgame last night. It's very Yuasa but commits a tiny crime of demanding you rewatch it to 'get it' but then stuffs it full of whimsical asides. It's something else...you can see a lot of its influence in later stuff, even Bubble.

Party people is done and Iam sad. Even with this stacked lineup handsdown the best show of the season for me. hopefully we will soon hear about a sequel.

Once we're done with GeGeGe no Kitaro (2018). Only...89 episodes to go. LOL. The GF loves her yokai-themed anime, and I love Sawashiro and Nozawa and picking guest seiyuu so it's a win-win so far. And while I'm not expecting webgen sakuga from Toei, so far it's been clean AF.

We also watched Morose Monokean (eeeeh) and Koizumi-san loves (stalker Ayaneru not funny, the rest of the show was great. Nothing like a one-line Suwabe out of the blue to spice things up).

Speaking of Mononoke, the GF is *awfully* excited about the new Mononoke movie announcement. Ayakashi was good but I'll agree that Mononoke was far better, and it'll be great to see what they can do with a movie budget and time.
