"Increased damage from shock is capped at 50% at 10% of the target's maximum life dealt by Lightning damage, scaling down to 0% at no damage."
I just realized that I got the mechanics totally wrong. It's not the shock effect that is capped, it's the increased damage resulting from the shock effect. So now we need way more than those 150% shock effect (iirc it was 150% in one of the earlier builds, right?) to reach those 50%? I thought we "just" lost only 5% on the minimum increased damage taken from Beacon? Does that translate into ~84% more required effect? "Increased shock effect will reduce the threshold required to reach the cap. For example, with 100% increased Shock effect, a hit that deals 5% of the target's maximum health or more in Lightning damage will apply shock for 50% increased damage." This is confusing me even more. :/ ~234 shock effect... holy cow, that's not a small ballpark figure... even with Breath of Lightning, Static Blows, Divine Judgement and Crackling Speed, with the Inpulsa being nerfed so hard, we still need something along the lines of 60% shock effect then. Jewels alone are not gonna cut it. But otherwise there's only Storm Weaver and Elemental Focus left (20%). Last edited by Cendrake#0301 on Jun 5, 2019, 7:10:32 PM

" It is really confusing. I just read through it all and think I have the math figured out. I'm stoned right now, so apologies if I just make things worse, LOL! Formula: effective increased damage from shock = increased damage from shock + (increased damage from shock*effect of shock) Beacon of Ruin (BoR) currently sets increased damage taken to a minimum of 20% from any hit that shocks the opponent. The cap to this increased damage taken is 50%, so that's what we're targeting. Any +% increased effect of shock/non-damaging ailments is applied additively to whatever damage increase the shock provides, which in this case is a minimum of 20% because of BoR. For example, say you have total 50% increased effect of shock on top of BoR as it is today: this would result in a minimum of 30% increased damage, since 20% + (20% x 50%) is 30%. In decimals: .2 + (.2*.5) = .3. With current BoR, we have 20% (.2) minimum increased damage from shocks. We're aiming for 50% (.5) effective increased damage from shock, so solve for y: .5 = .2 + (.2*y) y = 1.5, meaning 150% increased effect of shock is required to reach 50% effective increased damage from shock, assuming a minimum of 20% increased damage. When you take that number from 20% down to 15%, you drastically increase the amount of increased % to get to 50%. Think of it as 50/15 instead of 50/20; that's a big difference. Now that we're at 15%, solve for y: .5 = .15 + (.15*y) y = 2.3333, meaning 234% increased effect of shock is required to reach this 50% increased damage cap. Wow, that's a crapload more. These calculations are most important for boss damage, mind you. We can deal way more proportional damage to normal enemies, which makes our shocks apply way more increased damage than the 15% or 20% provided by BoR. Yeah, that extra 84% is going to hurt. However, you can get 20% increased effect of shock on your Shaper helmet with the level 20 innervation hybrid mod! Last edited by WorderMostFoul#7154 on Jun 5, 2019, 9:03:58 PM

Interesting setup by Enki so far, I gotta admit. I guess it's become such a nerfshow that now the playstyle is "don't get hit or you're dead", going for Dodge keystones and ditching Whirling Blades + Fortity :o Also 234% shock effect is bloody nuts >.< it's so insane. But this Can't record the promised 3.7 Demo Video due to upcoming nerfs! really hurts my heart as it's the first time he even had to say that :(((.
I wonder if EB-MoM is still the to-go setup like in 3.6? I think Zealotry aura fits the build and later a Watcher's Eye will be great, if not running Wrath? Zealotry provides some defense against rare mobs, whose life is doubled in Legion :/ A filthy casual

Spoiler
Aaah... Thank you for clarifying! It makes total sense to me now.
" Hm... haven't thought of that yet. But such a helmet probably will cost several exalts again. So yea... probably not in my reach. If anything I might get this when league's almost over ._. " And there are going to be a lot more and harder rare monsters in this league, which is making the loss on single target dmg even more painful. Another thing that is worrying me is the changes to IC and whether that's going to have an impact on survivability. I'm still a beginner in this game and would consider me a casual player. I die quite a lot despite the old IC. I know that GGG caters to hardcore players and streamers more than any of us normies, but the game is already hard enough as it is... Plus we're not using WB + Fortify anymore. Forgot about that. This is going to be hardcore :( Last edited by Cendrake#0301 on Jun 6, 2019, 1:00:06 AM

Wow. Sick nerfs :P
Well guess i can still go for tectonic slam jugg. |

" The crit multi in itself is already really good, mana regeneration is nice to have with manabased MoM and the resistances help with capping while still being able to fit in stuff like dualwielding or uniques. " Tbh it wasn't that bad this time, the real nerf happened last patch. twitch.tv/enkivt
