Hacked Accounts

I don't think you understand how passwords are stored server side. Sony had their passwords in plain text, LinkedIn had their passwords in unsalted sha-1, and any other company compromise only effected easy to guess passwords by being able to guess them via rainbow tables, word banks, generating against ruleset, etc.

Doesn't change the fact that there is a breach or leak. This game being the only one people are getting their accounts taken from out of thousands of other games is not a coincidence.

It is irresponsible to ignore what is happening. Saying nothing about it at all and blaming the players instead of doing something about it? That is just...lol

if every 3 post here is a new hacked account and assuming only 10% of these people write here we got 2500 hacked accounts (i think its less but what do i know) ..
how does that number compare to the number of accounts/usage of servers? is there some statistics available?

The Diablo series has always had problems exactly like the article says...the problem being much bigger with D3 and the RMAH is not surprising at all.

The article describes exactly what is currently happening to PoE. The difference is Blizzard admits they have a problem and is trying to do something about it instead of flat out blaming the players.

It seems no one has any real idea how or why it has been happening...it's almost like they don't actually access your account and just somehow transfer everything from it remotely.

first of all sorry for my english^^.

Just updated PoE after a 4 weeks break. First i was really excited about the Patchnotes but as soon as i logged in i saw that I've been hacked. All uesefull items are gone.

Neither, other game-accs or anyone of my Email-adressesahs been corrupted too.

It's sad enough to lose everything with some value and have no chance of getting it back. But it's the possibillity it could happen anytime again what's giving me second thoughts about plyaing on.

If the security problems are solved, I'll be back in a splitsecond.

I hope GGG will do a better job in the future. Would be really great if they implement some kind of autheticator.

My account just was hacked at 7am. All staff gone.
Well, no phishing scam,no malware, no viruses on my computer. So what happens then GGG?

again happened to me... even with this protection system by email u get hacked...WTF?
but now he stole all items equipped from me,orbs,maps,gems quality,maps...

How can it be that the new mail check and even ip check cant protect u from those chinese losers,gues i quit!!!

Just got hacked at 3am, all my shit gone, they even killed my hardcore character for me. Fuck you GGG. Suck it.
