Item Rarity - a stat no one likes
Well the biggest flaw with magic find is that characters other than totem freezers and necromancers cannot benefit from the stat. THIS is a major design flaw.
To balance it I think magic find needs to be more readily available (as in, not taking up much itemlevel points) At the moment it's clear necro's are the class who can get the most loot and thus are the rich ones of the game. I think it's a shame because this just ruins the economy and creates an essential class for currency attainment. My freezing pulse witch needs all the crit, fast cast, mana regen she can get.. maybe I picked the wrong class (which is a shame as i enjoy playing her but feel ill seeing yellows flying around like wisdom scrolls to necros) Time to re-roll I think. |

Yea i have never like magic find etc! I always thought the better gear you get the faster you kill, thus more items you find! Not find all this great gear while you lvl only to not be able to wear it!

" Could you explain why ? I'm confused as to why. |

I dont give a shit about rarity dont say its something "no one likes" when there are people who like it or dont care about it.

I like magic find. I don't like economies balanced around its existance.
Guess what d2 was -not- balanced around? A scion may be born of the rich, and as such hold more opportunity...
but a scion will never be able to appreciate the finer beauty of those less fortunate. |

The only problem i see with MF is that some builds in particular can benefit from it for free, while others cannot afford to use that affix slot for rarity.
They should remove MF as an explicit mod, and add it as an implicit mod to every item. This way no particular build has advantages when it comes to MF gear. Whether it is a totem sporker, necromancer, or a melee that needs all those affix slots for resistances and life. Every build will be equally capable of gearing for MF. This implicit mod should have a wide range, from 0-40% or something like that. This way we also add another layer to the itemization process. You can find godly gear with 20% MF, but if you find the exact same godly gear with 25% MF it is an upgrade. The best item is gonna be so much harder to find, but not really in the sense that your character isnt playable. Last edited by gh0un#3019 on Nov 16, 2013, 1:38:56 PM
