Item Rarity - a stat no one likes
" I didnt say MF ruins the game. You are overreacting about nothing. Get a grip. All i am saying is that i personally dont think MF is a good attribute gameplay wise. Its feels like an arbitrary stat not directly related to slaying monsters. Fire resist i understand, but tweaking the RNG doesn't feel like something that should be affecting my gear. I say nothing of wanting it to be easy mode. I'm fine with drops being rare, i just hate having to micromanage the RNG. Of course i can ignore it, but the truth is that its THERE and i will consider it when upgrading my gear. I dont feel like arguing about this, because its pointless. MF doesnt really change how i feel about the game. Unlike many posters here, i know to enjoy a game for what it is. If GGG wants MF, then so be it. I'm only stating my opinion. I'm not bashing the game or GGG. opinions - we can have those cant we? |

Without mf as a possible roll, you'll quickly outgear content and devolve to facerolling.
With mf possible, the ideal gear for farming includes enough mf that the content still remains somewhat challenging. IGN: Jerk, Princess

I'm against Magic Find on principle. If a person was searching a body with a spyglass(magnifying glass) they would have a higher search skill(magic find) but that would not make any items magically appear on the body.
If the spyglass(magnifying glass), giving us magic find, is in fact magical we should be able to use it in town and make items appear out of thin air. But sense Magic Find is not creation magic its only finding gear on the corpse it would only help us with small items and there would be a cap to magic find before you figured out all the hiding locations. |

" Playing without using 5-10 passive points makes the game interesting. Not using 12-20 passives makes it challenging, but only on solo play. Desync makes the game hard. Quantity and rarity are mostly for the farmer bobs. There comes a time thief when jewels cease to sparkle, gold loses it's luster, throne room becomes a prison, and all that's left is a father's love for his child. - King Osric

My biggest problem with IIR/IIF is that in parties, I fear that if I kill enemies with my low IIR/IIF, I might be costing my party loot. I would probably be more tolerant if the entire party used the IIR/IIF of the party member with the highest numbers.
Alternatively, maybe remove IIR/IIF from existing gear, and add a new item slot just for these stats? |

Yup mf on gear is bad and it should feel bad.

Believing your personal opinion is shared by everyone - A personality trait many of us don't particularly care for.
No point in reading anything other than the title. Waste of a thread.. of course it's 8 pages long. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

Guess I'm "No one;" just popping into the thread to say that yes indeed, I do like item rarity as a stat!

Magic find stats are quite annoying. Almost as annoying as rolling +elemental resistance on my weapons.
Overall, I wish MF was restricted to map mods. No MF on gear, no MF support gems. |

" Then do that and let the people who do want to have a farmer have a farmer? Last edited by Koivu#2073 on Feb 26, 2013, 4:31:16 PM
