3.1 Map sustain is beyond awful.

This game is grindy, I get that, a lot of me loves it. I love finding treasure, I love finding new things and creating new builds. This league though, the map drop rate is just awful. I understand you nerfed it but I think you've gone past nerfing and dropped into the pool of insanity. I have been using sextants to the eyeballs, chisels, alchs, chaos, jesus man theirs no end to the amount of things I have tried to do to improve the odds of getting maps. My atlas was sat at 155/157, I even dropped shaper this league, finally in over a thousand hours of play. All that side, I ran 6 shaped vault maps and had ONE map drop. I thought this was bad RNG but it's been going on like this for weeks. Constantly I am buying other maps to run because they simply just don't drop anymore. I even reworked the ENTIRE center of my map to limit maps dropping to specific maps, it changes nothing. At all. The map drop rate is just plain god damn awful.

I don't feel rewarded or feel like I'm given ANY incentive to complete or do the Atlas at all. Why do you insist GGG on taking anything that is considered fun out of the game? Just let us play for hells sake 0.o TOO MANY MAPS ISN'T A PROBLEM. IT'S THE END GAME. I can't even imagine how much this sucks for SSF players or HC for that matter... I think the dev team has gone off the deep end because grinding just came to a whole new reality for me.

P.S. Running a Windripper MF build. Also changes nothing. Map drop rate still feels the same, even with 34982374587% increased quantity, rarity, monster pack size... my whole guild is complaining about this on a regular if not daily basis. Initially in the league you don't notice it so much but as the weeks have gone by... wow... PUT THE MAP DROP RATE BACK UP.

note - i play in standard and my experience is exactly opposite: maps drop like crazy

but - i do NOT shape one map and expect to chain it. i know people like chaining valuts because they drop cards etc but i think GGG did something (silently ofc) to limit this horrendous 'strategy' their atlas allowed.

while i do like the outcome i think they simply avoided the source of the problem - shaped maps are 'not connected' and do not drop anything else. this is the core issue, not people boring themselves to death for the sake of artificial efficiency..

the only factor that influences your map drops is the quantity of the map itself, nothing else.

you have to do harder maps with high quality (preferably vaaled) to have a better chance to have maps drop.

And Im here stuck on tier 1-2 maps, they just not dropping, new ones. Im only getting small amount of those 5 I done and thats it. Bosses are not dropping any good stuff too. All seems screwed. And from 3.0 any go to towns is a disconnect pain for my necro summoner. Seems like I`ll avoid to play this mazochistic round and round ggg further.

Sad, yep, all this was much better before 3.0 as I remember. Only persistent spectres are good now. But still using them capping char defences to low lvl and bad defence unupgradable items like Bones of Ullr with laughable 20ES, 15 move and on..

Oh. That was about maps, sry for partly gettin off :D

I have to admit the maps drops in SSF are just bad and there is no trading for maps so your just stuck but who cares it is a game. Well kinda a game because it has no purpose at this point you go into a map and a lower map drops just one and your stuck. Yes I can buy maps from zena and that is a small help I guess but then I am back to nothing because nothing drops.
I'm loving the dropate, very challenging, although SSF must be in deep pain, i guess some vendor recipe to change maps, nothing expensive but not so cheap also, since horizon orbs got removed? Imo horizon orbs could return, but instead with a limited droprate, like same as master cartographer or 2-3x as common as a divine orb?

i had 4 shaped vault maps drop 1 in shaped vault map..but it's pretty RNG. Once in while i barely got anything on a lava lake map even if it's a high quant, hell kitava doesn't drop a map. But maps do drop often but not the ones I run though lol.

If this is really a problem (I cannot imagine it, anything below t10 is self-sustaining in my experience)...

a) farm storyline zones that drop t1 maps.
b) Roll or buy a couple of the prophecies with "random maps drop in chamber of sins".

Upgrade tier 1 via the 3:1 recipe as high as you can.
Just play a couple of those.
Meet Zana. Buy anything she offers for the couple chance orbs (if you don't want to use player market).

...and it gets rolling.

I understand high tier map sustain can be a pain in the ass.
But tier 1-2 maps? Seriously?
