Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games
I don't think it is a good idea to sell share to any Chinese company(although I am from Chinese) even the company is either big or small, their words are not trustful.
And yes, sure there is a more stable imcome for GGG to develop new stuff for players. However the future plan is unclear to let any players (western or chinese who play in world server or even in Taiwan server) can trust Tencent won't force GGG to add anything that not fit POE as beacause YOU GUYS SELL 80% of SHARES!!! and that means GGG actually don't have say anymore and you have to do want they say.Dismiss GGG may also the problem if you don't do want they want. If there is any change that is not fit original POE, there will be a large amount of player lost as same as what League of Legand does. Please take extra of care or your achievement from previous years will become tresh. |

" So you want to really kill the game by adding an auction house! excellent idea and +1 to you sir. Have fun when every item but a scant few becomes worth next to nothing and PoE becomes another auction simulator like WoW or D3 did. 1337 21gn17ur3

" Can we agree that Chris has enough integrity, in order for us to believe him when he states that they will remain independent, since it is actually plausible due to the complex way this deals are/ and can be made, without jumping the gun on insults and actually having a productive, well articulated conversation, about what is to come? I do understand you have worries and feel betrayed, it is normal to feel so. However can we just step back for a moment and look objectively a the big picture here? In my opinion this deal ensures that we will get more and better content in the next 5-10 years. This will also prevent the game to going on life support as others have. |

" That's the sort of dismissive attitude that sells MTX. Or maybe the opposite of that. When people have seen indy houses bought up, strip-mined - against the wishes of their now impotent founders - of all value, repeatedly over the last 23 years, you can't fault them one bit for being extremely pessimistic about this news. Your disdainful attitude driving folks off is making the GGG's potential failure every bit as much a reality as the people predicting doom. 80% of the shares doesn't feel like GGG have been invested in to me.
I can only hope that the game does not change as or that the GGG team get removed from the game development all together. (This can and probably will happen when Tencent don't agree with GGG over what they want to do with the game.) When either of these happen I feel that the numbers of players and mtx buyers will abandon Path of Exile. Which will in turn kill the game that the developers have spent so many years of blood sweat and tears making & destroying support of many who have been supporting this game over the years. |

There goes the reason many of us bought supporter packs, to keep this game independent. Are the companies finances really that bad? Otherwise it's hard to see this as not selling out.
