Sold out to Tencent, Can i refund all my supporter packs now?
There's many ways to do that really but you did get what you paid for like I can get my entire money back by force with a snap of a finger however I did get what I paid for so despite they are ''sell outs'' I'm not going to ask my money back / take it back.
However I don't think I may purchase anymore supporter packs in the future.
It's pretty basic.
Hell Charan can get his 10 grand back if he wanted too but he chooses not too same with me because we got what we paid for.

I think that it's a mistake, but I trust the GGG team to judge it better than me. My primary question is this;
If it turns out to be a mistake, is there an exit strategy? Can you get out of this? Is there a clause for such an event?

Well, congratulation on your business achievement, it´s quite impressive, indeed.
What's also impressive is the amount of hope in the statements.
"We hope, we were assured, we believe"
none of these are proper legal terms, and wont hold if Tencent decides to weight in their ownership. Or so it seems. Maybe I'm erring to the "China's Bad" side of things.
Anyway, PoE isn't that relevant anymore. Maybe Tencent's deal will shake things up, in a good way.

GGG, this is what your vaunted transparency will get you, a bunch of entitled ingrates who think that every change will kill the game because they said it would. It didnt die when the lab came out, nor did it when Xbox was announced, nor will it this time just because a bunch of chicken littles fucked off.
Everybody's entitled to their opinions, we're also entitled to say that your opinions are chicken little tier trash without even waiting to see what holds for the game in its future.
That's the sort of dismissive attitude that sells MTX.
Or maybe the opposite of that.
When people have seen indy houses bought up, strip-mined - against the wishes of their now impotent founders - of all value, repeatedly over the last 23 years, you can't fault them one bit for being extremely pessimistic about this news.
Your disdainful attitude driving folks off is making the GGG's potential failure every bit as much a reality as the people predicting doom.
People are predicting doom on what grounds?
We have seen the same thing for the last 23 year, and yet there is no strife on our end to promote a change to what is becoming the norm.
Doomsaying and jumping on the "RIP POE" wagon without thinking for a second is way more dangerous that trying to defend a good business decision. Ignorance and inclusiveness are way more dangerous than objective thinking.

I hope your contract is solid when it comes to how much they can force on you. You state that they can request to implement things into the Chinese PoE, and if it fits the international version it might get implemented there aswell. I'm scared of what they can force on you to do, and all of a sudden you lose control.
I hope this goes well and you don't change the path we know today. If you/they turn this into a childlike, noob friendly clownfiesta I flip my shit. This game gives you puzzles and challanges and you learn each day. I've seen a lot of people talking about making it easy to understand but that’s the opposite of what I want from this game!

"The problem with Tencent is the lack of innovation; all of their products are copies."

While GGG might be independent development and management-wise, and based on credible business reports they will be, I fully expect Tencent Games to release a game in the near future that would be a clone of PoE.
"This time, for mobile, somehow"
We've already seen Chinese companies use PoE assets to falsely advertise their own mobile games. Now tencent will both be able to sue those companies within China and also use the assets for their own games.

A thought for today: pessimism only leads to an early grave by around ten years less lifespan and a doubled risk of heart disease, so try maintaining just a little optimism. It might help you live a longer and happier life.
I can and I will continue to fault them for whining about every single change without so much as offering acceptable criticism in a majority of cases. I have nothing about legitimate criticisms with issues founded on reality, but sure, history so far is against that happening, I'll accept that.
Bestiary died because it was buggy, badly implemented, and had too little reward v. risk ratio and exposure to the league content. Had the flow been smoother, and not so micromanaged, things would have been different when it came to the content. GGG admitted to this mistake and agreed with community feedback it would be better that bestiary not make it to the core game, at least as it currently happens to be.
As I mentioned in another thread: I will happily eat crow a dozen times over *if* any of this shit happens for real, and accept that maybe you guys predicted the future right. But all this shit costs more money than you'd think, and for all the improvements demanded by the community, it's going to take time, money, and staff to cover it. GGG simply decided to get a major financial safety net in in order to realize these options, which could even lead to, say, a linux port for the game, among other things, or even cutscenes. My personal opinion is that I want to see just what a large cash injection will do in terms of improving what we already have, and that I trust the GGG staff to not fuck things up too badly in the process.

Can we agree that Chris has enough integrity, in order for us to believe him when he states that they will remain independent, since it is actually plausible due to the complex way this deals are/ and can be made, without jumping the gun on insults and actually having a productive, well articulated conversation, about what is to come?
I do understand you have worries and feel betrayed, it is normal to feel so. However can we just step back for a moment and look objectively a the big picture here?
In my opinion this deal ensures that we will get more and better content in the next 5-10 years. This will also prevent the game to going on life support as others have.
I will agree that Chris Wilson is a stand up guy who loves his creation. I believe he has the best of intentions towards himself, his family and his employees.
They problem is, most of his predecessors down this path did too.
I see Tencent as a vicious snake, ready and willing to bite given the slightest reason to do so. If anything happens to weaken Wilson's position...
...yeah, I've seen this blow up too many times before in the video game industry to be positive about this.

However GGG broke the norm when it comes to well polished game being totally free to play.
I believe we can relatively safely assume that they are able to break the norm in this case also.
In retrospective GGG have beaten Blizzard in ARPG aspect every step of the way, haven't they?
