free unlimited respec on passive skill (or a sandboxed Free Unlimited Respecs League)

Why do you think you don't have to think if there are full respecs? You have to think just as much, that HUGE skill forest isn't going to work if you fill it at random. Once again I say that the size of the skill forest is the reason that full respecs won't take nothing out the game. And if you really believe you have more fun repeating content I don't see why there couldn't be normal leagues and leagues with full respec...

And I say it again: time investment isn't skill! You really think you think more if you're mindlessly repeating content? You might think quite a bit at the start but then the rest of the game with that char will already be written in the stars... Being forced to adapt while you play, makes you think a lot more in the long run.

The Problem is that one can't really plan a build, because at some point there WILL be a patch and suddenly the build is literary f***ed. Even if none of these changes ever occurs, it is still certain that as the time passes some builds will shine while others will turn out to the worthless.
At the same time, i don't have the time nor the interest, to start a new char, just because i want to change how i skilled and have already used up my respect points.
Just thinking about having to play with and suboptimal build already gives me an headache ...

The system wouldn't have to be as flexible as in D3, but a full respec should be achievable within a few hours of playtime. The way it is actually implement doesn't really matter, as long as it can be done at any given point of time and any amount of times.
But as its is most certain, that no such thing will ever be implemented, I can't really consider playing this game, no matter how good it is besides its one ultimate flaw.

NO! No full respecs. Respec system in game right now is very good.
Yllä lohduton taivas, alla hylätty maa. Yksin yöstä kurkotan valoon, vielä huudan: päästäkää minut!
How constructive. Truth is that while many games start to realize that time investment and skill are different things, PoE is stuck in the past... What a shame.
i have just one lvl 17 char and i already know that i'd like a full respec... i messed up in the beginning, so what... we all have to learn someday. yes, i am damn noob, i didnt waste 18442874 hours playin PoE, nor i intend to. thats why the idea of making new char every time i misplace few points in this HUGE tree is a little bit odd... For casual players like me... i think there should be a league with full respec (as someone said before).

PoE devs - please! i know it wont be hard to implement (i can even bet that it is already implemented... for dev usage...)

i think many players want free and unlimited respec on passive skill. this allows the players to have fun and play as many builds as possible for all the 6 classes.

ggg should copy diablo 3 style of "free respecs in town" and implement it over in poe.

No they shouldn't - most of the original supporters of this game would quit over something like that.
Nothing to see here.
Full Free Respec League sounds faire poor ppl can enjoy this game too with this and bring extra money to project

I do not believe this would be a good gamer move or business move for GGG. After giving the idea some thought (including the Sandbox part, which I initially didn't have a problem with), the introduction of any free respec system would threaten gameplay immensely.

Some people have mentioned that D3 did this, so it should be brought over here. Honestly, I believe this was one of Blizzard's mistakes that wiped out character uniqueness. Anyone could be exactly like anyone else with little effort. I believe it was also one of Blizzard's replayability killers, insofar as there was no reason to play through the game again as one of the classes a second time (not counting HC) since you could access any playstyle immediately during one playthrough.

Granted, the skill tree here is much more massive, so to match anyone 111 points to 111 points without having previously seen the build would be difficult.

The Sandbox idea might have worked, but one concern about that would be that players would slowly migrate over to the Sandbox. You might argue that this is reason to allow free respecs, but it definitely reduces game difficulty, which would drastically reduce any rewarding feeling a player might derive from making it through the game with a build they hardly had any idea would work.
No full respec please. It makes this game replayable to plan our skills...
This seems an obvious and beneficial idea (even though I'd prefer a more limited type of respec in order to not spec for specific situations).

As things currently stand the Passive Skill tree is more of a liability than an asset imho. I bet many, like me, scour the forums and net for cookie-cutter builds so as to not waste their hours on a gimped toon. Only players who invest extreme amounts of time are currently able to truly explore the tree.

There are six classes and (almost) limitless specs. Allowing respecs won't kill the game. On the contrary it would breathe more life into it.
