Respec shoud be free

The problem with completely free respec is that vast majority of people will be constantly respeccing to the current FOTM streamer build which doesn't give them much data to work with except on the builds everyone is playing.

They could certainly tone the costs down a bit to make experimenting less painful and also give a free respec after balance changes. I expect once the outlier builds are fixed they will settle into a regular patch cycle where balancing doesn't happen in hotfixes so maybe they could offer a one off respec after each major patch.
Respecs should be earned, not free, go farm a few zones for an hour or two and you'll have your respec.

Stop being so entitled and start grinding.
Make it free or wayyyyyy cheaper Its not fun to try and rework your character and everyone doesnt want to "reroll" to fix the problem or spend 10hrs grinding enough gold to make fixes to "bad" choices.

Free Respecs dont hurt anyone.

Yes they do. The arguments were reiterated a few times in this thread. You've just chosen to skip reading them.

I have not seen a single one that makes any sense.
A lack of intelligence on your part then. Doesn't make them not true.

That's a big assumption to make. Even if we accept your assumption, what difference does it make? The people who would respec to the current FOTM streamer build would simply follow the current FOTM streamer build from the start anyway, so nothing has changed for them, they end up with the same build.

For people who want to experiment and try to figure out their own thing without unreasonable punishment or a useless build, respec being free would be a massive QoL feature.
Like even d2 had 3 free respecs snd was earier to get nore.

No thanks at least working 3 jobs that i hate would give me one of the things that matter in this world which is money.

No, it should not be free.

But thank you for your feedback anyway.
Respec shouldn’t be free.

However. It shouldn’t feel like you have to research your build before you even start the game, either. That’s the way it feels like now.

There’s not a lot of room for experimentation, trial and error. Especially with the gameplay itself being so punishing at times, and decent gear being very hard to acquire at low levels. I’m level 50 on my Witch and have yet to see a rare drop amulet or belt (except the quest belt in Act3). I can count the number of rare drop belts, rings, and amulets on 1 hand across both characters right now. And crafting mats are rare enough that I can’t Chance or Alchemy those items the way I used to in PoE1.

Like I want to play Comet on my Sorceress. But Ice seems pretty weak. I was fine on regular mobs, but bosses were insanely difficult. So what’s my option? I don’t get Comet until the 40s. I don’t have the gold for a full respec once I get it, either. And if I gear toward Lightning, I’m screwed once I swap anyway.
Not seen one singular good response as to why respecing shouldn't be free or at the very least a flat cost for Early Access. This isn't Leaguestart. Grow up.
