Are you satisfied with the new patch's response to Trials?

A BIG NO.

They just tried a band aid in the most simplistic way possible. The design itself is crooked, afflictions, minor afflictions, major and minor boons, balance between them are terrible.

4th floor design with small staircases where ranged monsters can attack you and even 1 monster can block you from using stairs feels terrible for melee players. You can't fix it by 35% less honor loss.

A RNG filled content which the RNG has more impact than your build + equipment + personal skill combined, is not acceptable to be for a mandatory character progression.

It needs a full rework from ground up if they insist on sekhemas for ascendancy.

Or just remove honour all together for ascendancy and make honour only matter for the drops or rewards.
What are you guys talking about, seems really fine for me to do the trial for 30 minutes, get oneshot by 3rd boss, farm 5 maps to get another attempt, just to learn the next attack from the boss, fail it and start it all over again. It's only like 2 hours of playtime just to get the djinn and try the boss again.

I don't have anything bad to say about difficulty but please stop this waste of time with redoing the farm for the djinn and reprogressing all the tedious rooms which are just annoying after 10 tries

Just wait until you see the 4th floor. I don't have any problem in first 3 floors, kill bosses in 5 seconds, honour always above 90%. Then 4th floor is just full afllicitions, small staircases, and the final boss which has x10 HP compared to prior floors.
They need to just turn this whole path to ascendency off and move the whole thing to normal quests in the main story line.

Trials are shitter and more annoying.

Just suck it up, it's a bad system, which no one likes. It's broken on so many different levels but mainly as stated by someone else earlier, completely stops you being able to play in certain ways. e.g. in any design in which you want your character to get hit.

No sanctum needs to be optional; gating character progress is bad no matter what you do!

The ascension trials are one epic dumpster-fire. Who the hell on the dev team thought thought players would love do to this kind of content, let alone find it fun? It's ruthlessly punishing and unrewarding with some of the worst RNG I've ever seen - not to mention the constant game crashes and freezes while doing trials. I've yet to finish my 3rd one successfully at level 80.

1) Sanctum is literally unplayable for some builds. The devs pound the build diversity drum (and try to enforce it with the new gem mechanics), but lock mandatory ascensions behind a mechanic that is barely playable to "non-meta" builds. Further insult, you have to play your build entirely differently than you would normally play to pass the "trial".

2) If you already dislike the mechanic, then it is unbearable to play through it the minimum of 5-6 times you'll need to fully ascend. You will die at some point, and you'll need to start all over again. (Not a problem, if the mechanic was "fun" or not gated behind rare keys)

3) Ultimatum can be fun, but some of the picks are overly harsh. As in; You Will Die If You Choose This Option.

So many issues are fixed with time, balance and tuning. This topic is divisive because there are the people that enjoy the mechanic, and people that vehemently despise it. For me, it's a little confusing that they chose a divisive trial vehicle as the sole means of ascending characters... Why?! Pick something less divisive...

No as it was unnecessary barring the bugs

Sekhemas is now too easy even on melee with 2400 honour and 4 floors. It’s beyond a get good issue at this point if you have trouble with it, it’s a maybe this game isn’t for you issue.

Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned yet and I'm not retreading old ground, and aside from how some mechanics might be disliked (Sanctum is rough for Melee builds and I personally don't like Ultimatum).

I think it would be very helpful if it was clear for first time players that you only needed to survive 4 rounds of Ultimatum instead of the full 10. On the first couple of attempts I totally lost hope because I thought I was completely outmatched.

All the same, I don't completely hate the idea of the new Trials, I mean maybe Sanctum is one thing (pretty hard limit for Melee), but its a neat idea and I never 'loved' Labs, its suppose to be difficult I guess, right?
