Jamanra the Abomination made me quit the game
" Genuine question for you, what is your lightning resists when you fought Jamanra? The first time I noticed he does lightning damage so I always go in prepared and never have trouble. Now on future playthroughs, I kill him with 2-3 perfect strikes lol. (Warrior player only) Last edited by TheFARMBOT2000#7917 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:24:16 PM

" Eh died a couple of times on normal, rinsed him on cruel. Frozen locus everytime he is due to take a swing at you, dps as much as pos and dodge like a maniac from the aoes. Like genuinely had an easier time on the boss than the map. Could be a niche case mind. Last edited by stryder5000#3112 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:26:36 PM

" Ask yourself this though. The game doesn't tell you resistance is important. Not once. Will a new player know to swap out charms and rings to bring resistance up? Or will a new player be left getting absolutely obliterated and have NO idea why? Once again, most people approach this from a veteran PoE player mindset, and that is the problem. What will your average player new to the game think when they're in act 2, and run up against a wall like Jamanra? They'll quit and play something else. Cause the game never once tells them what it's expecting of them. |

" To summarize: "If you permanently paralyse the boss it is a fun fight then" How is that an indication for a well designed fight?? I finally got passed him because "Frost WALL" somehow deals more damage to him then "Frost BOMB"!!!!! This is not a well designed fight or game!!! " Tada... this. You can't even say you did the boss at that point. You shoved him in a locker and gave him a swirly with mechanics that have since been nerfed to hell and back. So you have exactly ZERO clears on him on monk in act 2. Well done. |

I am a monk. I did it on monk. Pick a better build

" Well considering not that many frost skills are generally powerful enough to lock him properly at that point i think its fine, probably froze him 3 times in first phase and similar to 2nd. This is a bit of an overreaction. My dps wasnt fantastic and frost generally took a small while to build, it came in clutch on last phase Last edited by stryder5000#3112 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:29:26 PM

Lightning res. Movement speed. Job's done. All of his attacks are telegraphed visually and through audio cues. There's plenty of room to deal with the trash mobs in the area behind the shield in the sandstorm phase (people tend to clump up; GGG could make the visual indicator of the safe space a bit clearer there, I guess).
I'll admit that melee is annoying in the second part of the fight with all the area denial. Feels like it can take forever. But even in the final phase you have to get tremendously unlucky with certain attack combinations for damage to be unavoidable. He takes a good amount of tries to 'get'. Once you do, it's a great boss fight: you know what to do, but you'll still feel somewhat threatened every time you try because you have to be on point with your positioning. He's never easy - but not overly difficult either. |

" Look I agree that they should emphasize the importance of resistance some how. The problem isn't that the boss is overtuned as OP suggests, it's OP who lacks understanding that is the issue, with no help from the game. This is why we give feedback, and in this case I agree with you. |

" Im playing monk. He killed me once, cuz i refused to use a bell and still left him only like 5% HP before i run out of potions. It was 100% my fault, cuz in first part of a fight i was trying some stupid things and i had to use like half of my potions already. Second time, i used a bell and didnt need to use any of my life potions. Fight was over so fast that i was actually disappointed with how strong bell is. And i did that fight with 2 other classes before playing monk. It was not that easy, but still no more than few tries. Game have some problems, but for real, most of ppl quitting cuz of only skill issue and POE2 is not even a hard game. And i have seen some builds of ppl who rage quit - tbh, it was so bad that many of them could play basically without any gear and there would be no much difference. Maybe POE2 needs some good tutorial, cuz there is also MANY posts from ppl who dont know what to do with orbs. No wonder their characters r just too weak to do any content in this game. |
