Jamanra the Abomination made me quit the game
" I'll be right here when that patch drops here in a few days and you find you can't stunlock stuff anymore. It will be hilarious. |

" Well they are nerfing freeze build up in the upcoming patch so its gone bee harder to perma freeze bosses "It is now more difficult to chain-freeze enemies by reducing the amount of Freeze Buildup applied after a Freeze has been applied." Yeah that might be true. Im stunlocking a bunch of bosses. But even if that gets nerfed Ill figure something else out.
Plus I can just dodge his attacks. The boss fight is easy even when I'm not stunlocking. I have 3 different stuns i do the normal stun which I have plus 60 percent stun buildup on my quarterstaff The freeze from the bell And the shock from lightning attacks which my build focuses on. Not sure if they are gonna nerf all 3.
So all those new players? How is this going to work out for them?
They're going to slam their head against this boss, and quit. I really don't think you should have complete and total mastery of every system in the game by the end of the second act. Hell I don't think you should have total mastery of the game's systems till the last boss of the campaign. The campaign is there for to purposes. 1, to teach you the game, and 2, to tell a story. It should be easy enough that it can tell that story coherently, that is that it feeds you information at the same rate it tells you the story. As long as you're paying attention you don't have to stop and go back to town all the time to kit out for bosses. You just roll through and as long as you learn what they want when they want, you'll beat the bosses. End game is for mastery of the game's systems, not the start of the campaign. And if they want to do it like that, Act 1 needs to be a LOT longer. Last edited by Glyff3083#1641 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:35:31 PM

" Yea, thing is there are really only two builds for monk. Lightning, and Frost, cause that's what our skills give us. I'm on lightning, and it's no where near as brain dead as frost. You won't find 'something else' because the game shoehorns you right now. |

Im a lightning build that focuses on lightning damage for all attacks. But I added a cold rune in my staff for the only purpose of freezing bosses and other rares with the bell.
You should use every stun you can get. I am melting bosses on cruel difficulty. None gave me a problem.
" They could also not play EA games expecting everything to be worked out. You never did post your current build/skills/weapon. My resists were maybe 27 lightning when I fought him. Last edited by DeathByCactus#5133 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:44:19 PM

" that's another thing, cruel being so much easier than normal. It's hilarious. And in normal, the lightning build at that point in the game is brutal. You have very little means to generate charges, so little dps. Especially on a boss. You have to shock him to be able to syphon a charge off him. And even with ALL of the available chance to shock talents, your odds of shocking him are 4% per % of stun gauge. So you kind of non-start on him. He gets to beat you up for close to a minute and a half before you can reliably pull your first power charge off him to use on lightning fall. The entire encounter is radically different for the lightning half of the class just cause bosses are so hard to generate charges on. In contrast the boss before Jamanra spawned adds much more often and was far easier because of it. Charge generation gets easier later on, but only because you get stuff that's unlocked in act 3... |

I had problems in normal with my lightning build as monk as well until I got my higher level lightning base skills. DPS is low on monk in normal but ramps up to insane degree in cruel. I flew through cruel but went slow as molasses on normal.

" That sounds very familiar. I was at a similar point myself. I tried 57 times and failed each and every time. Then I thought long and really hard and came to the conclusion that my main issue was visibility. When there was too much clutter I could not tell which way the boss was looking or what he was doing. So I changed my build for less clutter (only important in phase 1) and - lo and behold - 3 attempts later I got him. 2 deaths due to being an idiot at moving and killing myself on a tornado and on a missile spitting portal - totally my bad. I got 2 other characters past him without any trouble. I made sure I did not use skills that cluttered the screen for phase 1. What Class are you playing that has the issue? |
