Lol. How are these "take away the XP penalty" threads still a thing. Y'all are wild.
Yes easier to complain on a forum then face reality and improve at the game

Yes my time absolutely gets deleted every time I die and lose 10% exp. This is a fact.
I can only imagine how much of his time was completely deleted by starting a new league...

It will never get old :) As I understand it, people are saying these things over and over for 10+ years already, so I guess nothing will stop them to do it.

D4 and minesweeper gamers that are shocked that they have to look at their monitor while playing

You lost your xp because your build failed. You just got the memo, and ignored it.
Everyone passively reaching max level is also outdated and doesn’t belong in THIS game in the year 2025. Especially not in path of exile 2
Again you're blaming the players and "build". No. It's the game that's badly designed lmao

Look at how getting to 100 is done in POE1. Mostly from running 5ways with aura stackers so your chance of dying is reduced to zero or from running white T15s with zero chance of dying. That's it, that is how the vast majority of players go to 100.
So what is even the point for it in POE2? You will get to 100 by running strats that will eliminate all chance of dying, just like POE1.
If that is what it takes for people to "race" to 100, then you might as well just cut out the XP penalty and let people do whatever... It's meaningless
Struggling players in any game will look for carry services, or any easy way they can to shore up their inability to adapt to something. In wow all you have to do to reach max level is play the game, and people still pay for boosts.
Its not "struggling players", stop blaming players for bad game design. It's the game's fault 100% that people have to resort to carry services. People already doing trial carries non-stop in TFT because they're so badly designed and everyone just has to buy a carry for it lmao
People buy breachstone runs or 5-way rotas cus grinding levels is cringe with exp loss. Why risk wasting hours of their time if they die when they can get what they want with 0% risk? This is a failure of game design and nothing else.
If lvl100 was actually fun to grind(imagine, a game being fun) instead of it being this stressful anxiety-filled vigilance because 1 death at lvl99 is who knows how many hours, maybe people would actually not buy as many exp carries.
And lvl100 was actually achievable for more casual players in exactly 1 league, when they reworked scarabs and put in the 30% exp per shrine buff one in the game. You could do 30 breach+shrine maps at lvl99 and reach 100. But guess what? GGG deleted those for literally no reason the very next league. They were not OP, nobody asked for the scarabs to be removed. I guess truly no fun is allowed in this game.
It’s not supposed to be fun to reach 100 for the average player. You know how I know? Because it takes an incredibly unreasonable amount of time, and there’s an exp penalty on top of that. It’s supposed to be a grind that only people that are willing to do that will chase. Figure it out already damn. Ever stop to think that maybe that was one of the reasons they removed that from the game?

And stop with your fixation on lvl100 this lvl100 that people don't care about this they just wanna level at their own pace without having their time completely wasted by the game.
Very much this. Those defending the XP loss always seem to assume the reason people don't like it is because they feel the need to reach level 100. But in many cases, I would suggest the vast majority of cases, that's not it at all.
I don't care about reaching 100 any more than I care about reaching Paragon 300 in D4. Which is to say, very little if at all. Even less actually, as there is a trophy for P300 in D4 but I will gradually get that on Eternal realm as it accrues XP from my season characters.
For most normal players the wall can be hit anywhere from level 70 onwards depending on luck with drops and crafting and how strong a build they are using. And if they fall even slightly behind the curve it becomes absolutely miserable.
Whenever that happens, it's a strong "I quit" trigger.

So the game isn't supposed to be fun? That's not very good game design then. It will keep losing players until this is changed.

If the xp penalty is preventing you from reaching lvl 90 then the xp penalty is your smallest problem. If you have a decent build then reaching lvl 90 is trivial. If you cant reach lvl 90 then reaching lvl 90 would be pointless cause your build would still be terrible. So you might aswell realise that early so you can make changes to your gear/skill tree.
If your stuck at lvl 75-80 and you cant progress, even if someone pushed a button so your character hit 90 instantly it wouldnt help, cause your character would still be too weak to do that content.
The game has different vectors that you can scale your character power on.
And if your character isnt strong enough to build exp then you should focus on a different vector, either improving your gear, your skill tree, jewels, etc.
