SSF / HCSSF feels dogshit to play

HCSSF is meant to be brutal and difficult and very slow compared to SC trade. It is a self-imposed challenge mode. I played POE 1 for thousands of hours before I ever did HCSSF runs and I had lots of fun getting to maps and running endgame content but it was the thousands of hours of knowledge that made it even approachable.

Gutting global droprates because you want to push Rarity, or removing farming spots has nothing to do with that though.

PoE 1 is unrelated, IDEK why you would be bringing up PoE 1.
We are talking about a different game.

Don't get me wrong... I did the same in PoE 1. But, PoE 2 HCSSF isn't comparable yet.

PoE 1 we have a craft system that allows to build defensive layers, work on the knowlegde we learn and patch the itemization gaps.

PoE 2 is a RNG fest without any regard for players time, knowlegde or patience.

PoE 1 has crafting, PoE 2 has gacha.
In PoE 1 you can grind your skill gems (power), in PoE 2 you cannot.
PoE 2 has shittier droprates than PoE 1 because of Rarity being pushed so much.

PoE 1 is completely unrelated. Your PoE 1 HC experience is irrelevant, please come back with PoE 2 HCSSF experience.

Ideally a new one, because existing ones already got to farm the beetle, which being removed is one of my criticisms, and their experience also vastly differs from ones that are doing new HCSSF runs now.

The ad hominem is uncalled for.

I don't mind grinding. The problem is that act 2s single grinding spot was removed. We can't even grind properly if we want to.

I was grinding Rudja, Azarian, vultures and the dumb skeleton wurm thingie in Act 2. But I have no joy doing it when "campaign map bosses are already rewarding" feels like a lie. Sure, one could go and bully Geonor, I guess, but really?! Play through an entire act to get to 1 monster that has slighly higher drop rates?

As for the nature of HCSSF, I love the slow paced progress and the extra difficulty of HC and, further, SSF challenges. But progress, yeah? Not spending 7 hours in Feythorn and Hunting grounds, on cruel, hoping to drop 1 pair of gloves that's appropriate for my level and still finishing the act without any meaningful upgrades. I mean, I did change my boots, from a 15% movement speed with HP and 2 resists to a very high Armor/Evasion value, good HP, no speed and no resists... In 7 hours. With 50% MF (which is yet another optional, but not that optional self-imposed extra difficulty layer, picking MF gear over potentially better non-MF one).

It would already feel much better if bosses were closer to waystones, so we could reset instances + farm bosses a bit more conveniently.
My Monk is level 92 in trade league and I have never crafted / found a single item that was better than what I was already wearing. I have crafted / found many items that have allowed me to trade for good Monk items, but I can only imagine how bad it sucks trying to solve attributes and resists SSF. You people are masochists.

You dont have to have all the gear and finish the game in a day or a week. Its ok to take a week to go from 70-75 because you cant push maps any higher. Assuming youre talking about ssf. There is no economy you're racing and there is nothing you are pushing because pushing in hc means death unless you are highly skilled and always attentive.

Each time I rushed, I died. Cus overconfidence is a more insidious threat than volatile plants. But I do tend to farm areas until I'm ~5 levels above them before moving on. Or until I get annoyed and rush to my foretold death.

The whole conversation here is that farming anything feels like just another layer of self-punishment due to the game being exclusively focused on gambling and trade until high tier maps, where MF becomes fun, but that is so late in the game that it may not exist at all for some of us.
