So angry all the time

I've never played a game where I was just constantly angry all the time. Not even when I play souls games.

I'm angry about the zone layouts and how each zone is tedious and genuinely not fun to navigate (dreadnought is the worst layout in any arpg I've ever played). I'm angry about how skill progression is gated behind pure RNG. I'm angry that player gear progression is gated behind pure RNG. I'm angry that, instead of the normal 30% res penalty at the "end" of the campaign, you take 10% each act and then more in maps, putting you constantly behind. I'm angry that the players were intentionally slowed down, but monsters leap, sprint, roll and fly at you from 2 screens away. I'm angry that I can get body rolled 2 screens if that stupid beetle rushes at me just right. I'm angry there is a ridiculous amount of chaos/poison damage so early on in the campaign with virtually zero chance of mitigating it.

At least with souls-like games (or most any game with a steep difficulty curve), there was a mild period of rest where you can relax and celebrate a sense of accomplishment after beating a difficult boss/zone. With this....I beat a boss that drops literally nothing I can/will use, think about the zone I have to dredge through next and say "well shit...I'm not looking forward to this" at level 40 with the same gear I found at level 16. With every single zone that follows the last. And if I haven't found a skill gem that brings my skills up to level? Good luck.

I, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people, shouldn't be constantly gripped and irritated at a game that literally had 10+ years of its predecessor's knowledge and experience to learn from. It feels like you tried to take the worst parts of every ARPG in history, threw in a soul-dodge, then touted it as genre defining when everything this game does has been done before, but better. You guys have to do something about this game as a whole....because this is just not it.

EDIT: You're right. Change every "angry" to frustrated.

If video games make you angry you should probably find a new hobby or seek out a therapist
This is a poe thing for me. I also get a very specific feeling that this is is intentional. Areas are all the same huge and maze like, and chalk full of so many unnecessary details, every detail fighting for your attention so much so that you cant pay attention to what matters in the end.

I too feel what you have descried, i feel this in poe too but in poe2 it seems this phenomenon is put on steroids. I also think people dont realize it but they feel it too and over abundance of salt on the forums is a by product of it.

Poe is not a 100% positive emotion game and it always gives me a mix of both.

At least in PoE1 you had a chance at getting revenge against what killed you.

In this game you just have to eat shit and take it. Makes people stew with no outlet.

Good read. I would just replace the word "angry" with "frustrated" in my case

Small correction:

"
0.1.0e Patch Notes

Endgame and Monster Balance
Maps no longer have additional elemental resistance penalties inherently applied at Tier 6 and Tier 11 or higher Maps. It is now consistent across all of the Endgame at the same value as it was previously at Tier 1.

They changed the "more in maps" part like a week after EA came out, hard to take feedback seriously from someone that doesn't even follow updates.
