Can we do an event that uses the 99.99% of players
Can we please have an event that does not cater to only streamers. This is just straight up a slap in the face to everyone that plays this game. A race is fine but make it a race against the clock, not the 18 hours a day streamers. I quite literally predicted that this was only going to be won by streamers. Why slap every single player in the face and tell them this game is not meant for you to enjoy, it is strictly for streamers. Please stop catering to the streamers for the love of god.
This event is literally who can use leap slam and shield charge with better map RNG. This is so pathetic. Do better GGG just please. Last edited by GIBAS1996#4295 on Mar 3, 2025, 12:26:48 AM Last bumped on Mar 4, 2025, 5:26:52 PM

hell no, do you lost your mind?
let 99.99% players all across the world join the server at same time, then cause a Server Shutdown? Last edited by InterfaceBoy#4817 on Mar 3, 2025, 1:58:41 AM

" Agreed, there is not a chance for a player on consoles (without keyboard and mouse support) or without years of poe1 experience to win this in any way. (ALL typos lack of caps, punctuation and general errors are copyright Timbo Industries - Laziness Division)

" Fairly sure he means 99.99% of PoE players which didn’t cause GGG any problems a day after EA launch, so they know how much server blade reservation they will need. And each world region has its own regional server blade ‘farm’ which can be (for a fee) be scaled up instantly as required. Your reply shows a lack of understanding of how AWS and Azure servers work. Sure if 99.99% of gamers joined at the same time that would shutdown servers (like a ddos attack) but as they won’t neither will that happen. Game lost 90% of initial playerbase. Looks like these races were simply one of easy methods for damage control along with those fresh vids they posted on their channel. They did at least something and had no time/resources for better implementation. But this didn't work well because even in this format they were badly promoted and simply left unnoticed by most people.

" Yep, GGG doesn't have the capability to hold..hmm...let's say 500000 players. |

POE1 first race was ACT 1.
I imagine only because they saw streamers complete sub 3 hours they felt it had to take longer to keep the event exciting? If it was just ACT 1 I would have loved to participate. Even if you are not good at racing, you could still rank and be on a ladder. Act 3 in 2h30 by the very best players is not a race, it's a marathon. |

" The game did not lose 90% of the playerbase. Its still retaining a large amount of palyers and many wait for the next big patch. Thats how it works in live service games that dont ahve pvp and that dont really have a huge goal to go for. Many MMORPG like Tera, Aion, Blakc Desert, WoW or other Live Service Games like Loot shooters retain players by making them grind. I can speak a lot about Black desert and players grinding every day for half a year to get a specific item. Or tehy Grind weeks and hundred of hours to get another Level. In POE you dont have such a thing. The game is over in 2 Months. You dont have exceedingly rare items and going for the perfect roll on an item is lunacy, its wây to hard to get that. And you dont have Upgrading Gear like many games have where people sink their time in. People that stay in the game like to min max, they like to try out new builds or like to hoard wealth. Not everyone likes that. So they do sth else for some time until they have new stuff to do. |

" Just came here to say - a marathon is a type of race. |

It seems like you are failing to understand what the purpose of events like this is.
Besides, what kind of event could they possibly host where the average player would be on an even footing with people who play all day every day? Do they lock people's play-windows to 3 hrs a day so that casual dads have an equal chance? Does any of this stuff ever occur to the perpetual whiners that are abundant in this community? |
