Crit Vs Reflect Unbalanced
OK, so suggesting that the game have far tougher monsters isn't an actual suggestion. Or perhaps it does not count as a suggestion. Or perhaps it requires too much creativity to comprehend.
Perhaps visualizing monsters that run at you and hurt you badly and inspire fear is beyond certain people. I suppose since suggesting that monsters be more difficult does not count as an actual suggestion, that these words appear invisible and nobody else can see them. I guess I wasted my time over the last five pages of this thread. Got it, guess I'm done here. Last edited by tikitaki#3010 on Jul 26, 2013, 1:00:03 AM

My examples are an attempt to show you what feedback is. And how it works.
Currently you are still just saying "Visualising mosnters that run at you and hurt you badly and inspire fear". So you want monsters that just charge towards you.... wait.... isn't that all monsters now? So you want to up the mosnters damage to inspire fear? How does this make the game better? Your idea appears to be terrible, and so I do not want it implemented. Reflect is easier to deal with than MoC Rhoas charges (sorry, bad references, super super fast enemies doing suepr super super damage). Suggesting the game have tougher monsters is difficult to evaluate. Do you want mroe damage from them. More health so they die less. More speed. More damage reduction. More spells. More accuracy. More evasion. Etc And if we ramp up the damage, how does that make the game better, it has no effect on crit or reflect which are anti-damage output mechanics, instead if makes the game require more defense, which is not the same issue. So your solution of 'tougher monsters' in actual fact has nothnig to do with reflect. You can't even think of a mechanic or a mob type that works the same way reflect does relative to DPS vs Survivability. |

" hahaha typical as hell! every player who complains about reflect and one shot mechanics because they are glass cannons or cant get a weapon swap with an alternate skill:- ''Reflect is cheap! One shots are cheap! I want a challenge but theres a fine line between challenge and stupid!'' ''OK So what do you suggest, genius?'' ''Errr ... emmm ... thats for suggestions forum OK! Shut up thats not the point! Q_Q'' Last edited by jsn006#2582 on Jul 26, 2013, 5:15:31 AM

" loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool someone is still doing 66 level maps it seems You should try extra pack size map with rhoas and speed mod, haste / dmg aura, extra dmg / ele dmg mods or maybe torture chamber map which always spawns titty bitches, you know try a vulnerability map with extra damage, gmp, haste, -res, extra ele dmg ... and get a savage or deadly champ pack in these, or maybe a dmg aura rare on that. " reflect can be countered on every build, its a challenging mechanic that makes you think and strategise Last edited by jsn006#2582 on Jul 26, 2013, 6:10:35 AM

This thread is hilarious
I point out that reflect is a boring, shitty, lazy mechanic that allows you to implement cardboard cut-out monsters that are completely nonthreatening in their own right. I point out that monsters need to be tougher and more aggressive as a whole, and then reflect is not needed. Two players come in and say that this does not count as a "real suggestion" I then ask said players if they intend me to design an entire monster, complete with scripted AI, abilities, and all their numbers. They say no, that's not needed. They then go back to saying I did not in fact make a suggestion. Fascinating. It seems to me like they just don't like my suggestion, and are doing everything they can to make me look bad for some reason. Oh, I know why. It's because if you check their post histories, they are biased fanboys who will reply to every thread critical of this game with some kind of fervor and spam the shit out of it, even if it's just somebody giving honest feedback about shitty mechanics that make the game worse. " It's not challenging. It's easy to build around. Totems work. So does using a build that doesn't crit much with only medium damage. It's a tool the developers used to slow down gameplay, because the monsters themselves aren't challenging enough to slow it down on their own. Last edited by tikitaki#3010 on Jul 26, 2013, 7:57:20 AM

" Believe it or not, not everytime plays totem build, wants to use them or has slots for them. Believe it or not, even non crit builds can die a lot to reflect. You can get big damage without crits. You know nothing about the game, it seems. We are still waiting on your suggestion to replace reflect, and what you would consider a well designed monster. What would you consider challening then? 'Oh monsters than run to you and instill fear' --> wtf are you 2 years old? Can you form a coherent argument instead of babbling absurdities? Monsters already run to you, and we already have aggressive damage in the game. Maybe you should get out of lunaris temple / docks and start running higher level maps. |

Welcome back.
1. Indeed. It's called merciless, not dumb. Otherwise you might aswell put invulnerable monster right before the first town who could one-shot any build. Anything less than that would be babysitting players, wouldn't it? Alright, alright, not EVERYONE but everyone without Kaom's. This mechanic will pose the ultimate challenge worthy of the name merciless. 2. Sure you can. Pretty sure you already had this much damage somewhere mid-cruel. Nonetheless my question stands:"Isn't it boring to fight monsters who can't kill you even if you go afk to make coffee?" The damage in general should be bumped quite a bit. 3. Really? What can't be done with totems? Top tier DPS? Check. High survivability? Check. Synergy with party members? Check. MF? Check. Reflect/Lightning Thorns? Check. Nasty melee bosses? Check. Can't have 6S items? Oh, wait..! 4. True that. In D3 you don't even need that many. 5. It's a spherical horse in vacuum (also known as spherical cow). A metaphor for your refusal to see the whole picture. |

" Ah, since you have run out of logical responses, the ad hominem insults show up. Should I call a moderator? " More ad hominem. Yes, difficult monsters are an absurd concept in PoE, I know. We have cardboard cut-out monsters that kind of just look at you and wait for you to own them. What's the one exception? Map Piety perhaps? Last edited by tikitaki#3010 on Jul 26, 2013, 8:04:32 AM
