1.0.1 Patch Notes

I think the CoDT changes are actually pretty nice. I have been relying on CoDT since I got it, and as such I tend to take a lot of damage up front when I get into a group, then my enduring cry and molten shell procs and I take less damage for the rest of the fight.

These changes mean I will have to manually cast my high level Enduring Cry (to get max charges) then leave my CoDT linked to a low level Enduring Cry which will go off over the duration of the fight, refreshing my endurance charges so I don't have to recast during the fight.

Honestly I am pretty okay with that, it will take 1 more red socket but I'm not currently using all my sockets, and I will have to cast 1 skill at the beginning of a fight instead of going straight to my attack or curse.

This CWDT change is a huge nerf that will affect my gameplay, I just finished act 3 merciless which means I finally got CWDT from a quest reward in act 3...all the gems I am supporting won't work anymore until it gets up in level which isn't going to take me a couple hours, but days or more for it to catch up with my other gems.

You can't make such a big change like this without accommodating those who are going to suffer from this. I feel you should have at least allowed those who use the gem to KEEP USING IT. I liked the idea of your other gems working at a reduced level until your CWDT levels up to allow for the other gems to reach their full effect. But no, I can't even use them anymore.

The Fact is, I can't use both anymore, I either use the CWDT with lower lvl gems...which I would have to buy from someone, or I don't use it and just let it sit in an single gem slot to level up, all the while take a few extra seconds every time before I engage enemies to cast 3 skills which the gem was supposed to automate for me (this was the purpose of the gem in the first place!!).

You've made the skill unusable unless I level it which is game breaking. The supported gems still need to be usable at a reduced effectiveness. Period.
3 useless auras. GGG could better add better 3 auras which mobs are using such as accuracy/crit aura and both physical auras. There was no need in nerfing Purity imho, and split it to different auras.

That's a work around. Work arounds mean the design is flawed.

What i want:

1) The gem to be useful within a reasonable degree. I don't mind casting skills before every fight. But there's a limit to how many i can cast before it becomes a chore.

2) That the gem increases its usefulness as it goes higher in level. This applies to ALL gems. The last thing i want to do is having to gouge which "optimal" level a gem ought to be, particularly if they keep changing things. I don't want to waste any currency on having to down level gems after each patch, neither do i want to waste time leveling a gem as well.
I see a lot of complaining and over a free game. Appreciate what you have people. They could have charged you for this. Look at D3, It's a joke compared to this game and they charged you (and me =[ ) $40, and the expansion isn't going to be free either.

Things are changing all the time, and if you can't understand that, maybe this game (or any MMO for that matter) isn't for you. I find it quite fun to theorycraft after a huge overhaul.

To GGG, you are all doing a great job. I've played this game since early beta, and even though I thought it was a fun game then, you have all done so much to improve it. Keep up the good work.

Anyway, i ran my cyclone(fb+block/spellblock) char to merci Dominus. I facerolled him like usual even without cotd. But the gameplay just wasn't as smooth, not to mention there's always the risk of still geting 1 shot without enfeeble.

Yes i detest casting spells when i'm playing a mf*ing melee, it just slow down the gameplay killing all the action for me and sometimes it kills my char aswell if i cast during a fight, makes me feel like i'm a punching bag. If i wanted to play an rts i'd choose another game.

This will be offensive, but incase your skull is to thick to comprehend, we want fluid combat, not something that takes ages to do.

CoDT was a convenience for me like for many other people, some used it to faceroll stuff with spells linked and i don't mind.

But for defense purposes what you should atleast do is make Molten Shell and enduring cry instant cast and able to cast while moving or performing other action. And guess what, people will actually use them as a stand alone skill.

If you do that people won't care about CoDT and you'll be able to just put it on the backburner with all the other useless skills. But if you don't believe me, just make a tankish melee character and see for yourself how casting EC and MS gets tiring and keeps breaking the action.

I don't even care if a change like that would make ranged more powerful, but it would also mean that melee would be so much more fucking fun to play.

Hey, I'm using reave on my melee shadow and it's my best character I've played so far (didn't play with it on maps higher than 72 though). And I use also cast when stunned - it's working fine too.
