The debate to have or not will remain so long as the option is not there... That is the single most important thing I can say about this topic.

The option to have it is really the only answer to satisfy different people.
The numbers should be enabled only only on certain difficulties imho.

Also, I think bosses should have disabled numbers of HP.

This way there will be a bit more of mistery to discover by the players.

I don't see the need for it. In an ARPG I want to look at the monsters incoming and decide how to tackle the mob. This can be done with familiarization of the monster type. ie. I've seen that one before, it kicked my ass, I should give it some space.

Given the story-line I think this fits better. I don't see how buddy just washed up on the shores knows how much health the monsters have.

I'd be fine with it being disabled in the options as I don't see it giving a competitive edge really.
I voted yes for having the option to see health as long as it only applies to monsters. Keep this feature out of PvP, it could have major effects on the encounters between players.
I feel like only Boss Monsters should have xxx/yyy life displayed
Since its clearly a subjective matter, I vote to have an option for it.
If options are properly organized (grouped, tabs, etc) it shouldn't clutter the options menu.
I always thought that the more options for stuff like these, the better.
I strongly wish for monsters not displaying their true Hitpoints values. This really takes the excitement out of many tough encounters. A hitbar representing the percentage is fine (and enough for all gaming purposes) as it allows to guess values very near to the truth.

If something like damagenumbers are going to be implemented, do it the other way round and provide an option to display the damage you deal to enemies and vice versa. This is a lot more interesting to most ppl as they can see their damage mitigation at work and they get a better feeling of how much their own character improves in strength over time. This still allows for those moments were you first hit a boss with an enourmous critical strike and think: "shit... i only did like 2% dmg ... man he's frikkn strong!".

Hide the numbers, raise the excitement.

^Agree with this opinion. That truly takes the excitement out of many tough encounters, and more, this make your fight get more excited, you dont know how much are his Hp, hp regen, physic immune,...
I hope hitpoints values not display in the game and also in option.
Btw, also dont display character hitpoint value.
May be im a hard fanboy of D2, but let keep some unique value from D2, dont make it like others casual sandbox. :)
I'm waiting for a beta key. If you dont have anyone to invite, please just invite me.
