Poll: Monster life number display
Should numbers be shown on the monster life bars?
|
I think you should make a system that after killing the same mob x time (100 or more) you start to know well your opponent and then know thier HP (maybe ressistances and other stuff).
I still think it should be an option that we can disable. Off topic : In the same idee maybe we get a 1% dammage increase after killing x time the same mob (5000+) stackable x time (5-10 +/-) |

I think a health display, and the potential for some sort of damage display/"combat log"/something is a key idea in such an online game, in todays environment. I am a giant numbers geek: I dig through math to optimize my character, and for me, this is more then half the game. I want to know all of these numbersso I can actually say "Hey, that passive for +y works out better then the passive for +x" and then feel more powerful, even though it might be a .0001% difference. This approach isn't just relevant for my damage output, either, as I calculate survivability the same way. I mean, I understand it is a beta, so I haven't bothered yet, but I have considered using fraps and a stopwatch already, and there is really no reason for that sort of foolishness.
TL;DR: Make it an option, consider a combat log for numbers geeks like me. |

I feel numbers of how much you hit or a battle chat log should be shown and viable to the player, also it is nice to have numbers show for how much dmg you do, since theres really no way to compare a crit hit to a reg hit. Also a special sound effect for crit hits would be cool.

" I agree. I played wow (hardcore end game) for 4 years and who played like me NEED to make math to be the top dps, 0.5% is the gap between the first and the fifth dps position. |

If there's a question whether or not to do something, I think having an option for it is the best solution. :)
You can find me on the Quakenet if you use logical reasoning.

I agree, I don't think that its really needed in the game since all the small mobs get killed soo fast there is really no point in adding it but it would be nice for the bosses though. I think making it optional would be the best bet or better yet adding it to the game but have it only show bosses life and other strong units that can actually take more than 2 hits. What do you think of that idea?

" I totally agree with this but i still think it should be included as an option just in case people have issues with seeing numbers on the health bar (trust me i know people like this and they get annoyed seeing numbers over their "bar of redy goodness") personally though i like to see numbers as it helps me know my situation more accuratly. |

It works fine this way. I measure in "hits to kill" anyway, so the current bar is fine.
Numbers in the healthbar might not really work too, as you most of the time continuously shift targets anyway. What I DID miss was a health number in your own personal health globe. |

I haven't played a game that displays the hit point numbers on a hostile creature since my Forgotten Realms days (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, etc.) I don't really see a need for it, although I can understand that other players might. I can tell when an enemy is going to die by watching its name label.
It would be nice to have an option to enable it. This would perhaps make the majority of the players happy. From my perspective, however, I voted "No". p Read My Links!: http://www.theamazonbasin.com/forums/index.php?/topic/121389-read-my-links/
