Look at the tree just in the top of this page, it's more efficient than the op's one in its current state. You will also find some other variants in the previous pages.

I'm under the impression it's more efficient to go for sword now as there are some easily accessible sword & life nodes, but it won't be a groundslamer anymore :(.
If and when you go swords will you go with ST and change from STR to DEX to support it?
Not sure yet, I like the feeling of ground slam so I'm still waiting before using my full respec. If I'd go for sword, it would be a 1H/shield. The sword & board build guide have a nice tree. The main issue is I don't have any BoR so maximizing block will be hard.

When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch?
If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch.
Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart...
You can't use ground slam with a two handed mace...

I'm trying to use "KISS" (Keep It Simple Stupid) in my Marauder Solo Self-Found Ambush League approach and like the OP so far but have unraveled it seems some problems... In particular is that this thread is over 370 pages long now, the OP seems not to be present often enough, and with revisions in the game with player contributed variations needs "revamping"(?)

In the beginning the OP states only needing to use 'red' STR gems and sockets--I love that and its working well so far...

1.) But 'Faster Attacks' in the Wiki is listed as a 'green' DEX support gem--not a 'red' STR. Is this an exception to 'red' only? Would there be a third different/better 'red' support gem to use? And, more importantly, if Faster Attacks is important why not pick up nodes to accomplish this to some degree?

2.) 'Fire Physical Damage' in the Wiki doesn't exist in green or red but I found 'Added Fire Damage in 'red' which I think represents only a minor correction for KISS Newbies.

3.) Following the 'TOTEMS:' section is the 'AURAS:' section where it states "After release we use no auras." What the heck does that mean--the release of what?

These questions and my path through the PST are pretty damn important to me. I've killed off Brutus and most recently The Weaver with hardly a close call or need to visit town once. It seems that as far as Normal has gone so far there isn't any problem with the character development though I want to deviate a little here and there which of course is dangerous if one must respec points later:

Of course, I am quite concerned about Dominus still and Cruel and Merciless beyond far far beyond Normal.

1. You don't have to use faster attacks but if you want it's a great gem to put in should you have a green leftover socket. Consider it a bonus gem if you acquire a 5 link. A different gem to use would be multistrike which is a quest reward in merciless act3 late game.

2. It was called fire physical damage in the beta. The guide hasn't been updated to reflect this name change. Added fire damage is indeed the correct name.

3. It means after game release. Before game release, in beta we were able to use auras with blood magic keystone. Ggg has since then nerfed those auras by making them percentage auras that cannot be used with the blood magic keystone.

I used this guide in beta when i started playing poe and the build still works just as well. It's one of the most solid builds for beginners and experienced players in this game.
I have used this build up to and including 70+ maps so this is the build to use for someone just starting with this game.

Remember this guide is aimed at beginners and it does a good job of getting a beginner started. The new tree provided looks good and optimized.

I see you have went ahead and picked up some accuracy nodes. That's no problems. You get between 10-20 respec points so you can later spec out of undeeded points. Expecially those you have put there as we pick up resolute technique pretty soon for 100% accuracy.

Update: I have been using a similar build, ground slam, heavy strike, cwdt x2 with molten shell, enduring cry, immortal call and decoy totem. This build is fine in late game. Breezing through most maps up to 76. I've seen a few posts about this not being a great build and I don't understand why. Multi strikes and faster attacks are your friends for life leech. Level 87 now - haven't died since 85. I am using a different skill tree though and different gear.
Th reason why this build is not always fine late game is because it's not that tanky. Vs the harder boss map in 76/77/78 its too easy to die. Before the latest patch at least you could take full advantage of Vaals pact but with that having been nerfed now I wouldnt recommend this build if anyone is serious in getting past level 90+ (unless you want to grind lvl 74 maps non stop for the next few years)

Very fair criticism. A poorly rolled 75+ map will demolish you due to your inability to avoid damage (block/eva) or resist it well (no +max res)

It's important to note that it GREATLY depends on the map mods you run. I've gotten my ass handed to me by Harbinger (73 map), but I've also killed dual Megaeras and dual Shock and Horrors without dying. If you're smart about it, you can run end game maps.
