[Item Filter] One Filter to Rule Them All 4.9.2 (Updated 2021-10-25 / EOL)

Probably to dumb to read, but does your filter show jewels?
Otherwise it looks really solid, going to give it a try :)
Yes it does. Give CTRL + F "Jewel" or whatever you're looking for a try and chances are you'll find what you're looking for :) I've tried setting sensible comments to each section.

Jewels right now are simply shown because I'm unsure as to how highlighting would be beneficial. Ideas more than welcome and thanks for giving it a try.

I've added a link to one of Antnee's posts in his filter thread descibing what sections, blocks and lines are since most of the filter threads use that terminology. Also his description is really good.

k good to know!

Error line 8531 unable to parse parameter. Its the funny o in Maelstrom.

Got a fix for that?
MonstaMunch: "You're just jelly because you can't afford to mirror my rod. It's 100% reel."

GooberM: "How does that not warrant a good ol' stabby-stabby?"
Nevermind, I got it. Your link opened it in the web browser. Actually downloading it fixed it.

THanks so much!

No, thank you for showing a way around the Maelström bug thing :) I've added it as a hint below the download link.

By the way, is anyone able to build a .gif showing the same loot pile with and without pressing the loot button?

In other news ... small adjustments have been made:

#v0.8:
# - Highlight Flasks in low level zones (inspired by Antnee's Classy Item Filter, thx)
# - Lowered font size of late game flasks as they get less and less likely to be picked up
# - Hide specific belts rather than show specific ones (safer in case new belts are introduced)
# - Readded a grey border to craft and chance items
# - Added AlertSound for 75+ and 80+ maps, visual highlighting yet to be implemented
# - Lowered font size of "large" chromatic items

I'm especially interested in early- and mid game as well as end game (75+ zones) feedback. Is there something you missed (because it was hidden but shouldn't be) or is there too much (dude, so many magic items noones ever gonna use at lvl 35+). That sort of stuff.

Making a gif is pretty easy. This is how I did mine:

Take a screenshot without highlight key, take one with the highlight key.

Go here.

Upload both pictures, and you're practically done. There are sliders and whatnot to let you adjust speed and all that. Give it a go!

The following is a reddit conversation that kinda went on for a while, moved here for completeness.

I've been testing loot filters for 4 days and I like them so much.

If I had to decide my favourite ones, I would say these:

Muldini's loot filter http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1259059

John Oldman's loot filter http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1258583

So... what are your preferred ones? Would like to test a few more.

EDIT: I recommend these as well:

Thiole's loot filter: https://github.com/thiole/lootfilter

Neversink's loot filter: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1246208/page/1

Glad you like my filter :) (Muldini)

However you mixed up names/links.

Just updated it to version 0.9

Yeah, it's my preferred one I think. I have to keep testing them, but yours it's my favourite!

What can we expect for the version 1.0?

I honestly don't know, I've just added the last "major" to-do (T1 Armour/Weapon and Craft bases ilvl 77+ highlighting being autogenerated) and feel it's getting close to be where I wanted it to be.

Maybe something Jewel / Card related, as that's still new. Maybe it will just be 1.0 once PoE 2.0 is released.

Any ideas? Any areas where you would like to see improvements?

I've just killed Merciless Vaal and dropped like 9 rares and all of them were exactly the same with your filter. I swapped to other ones and they marked them differently. Is it some kind of value or tier? I would like if top tier rares (i mean, best ilevel the level zone can drop) were different than the low level ones.

I don't know if you understand what I mean.

That should be the case already, atleast until ilvl 60, then they are marked as chaos recipe worthy by adding a rare bordercolor.

Might make it so that T1/2 drops >= ilvl 60 and < ilvl 77 are marked as well. Will think about this, time to get some sleep now.

I've uploaded v0.9a (http://www.thiessen.im/oftrta_muldini_v0.9a.filter) for you to test.

Please be aware that this is untested and only posted here to enable you to check if that's your expected behavior. Please check that everything is working as expected by regulary checking with the loot key.

Changelog:
v0.9a:
- Moved Chaos/Regal recipe below leveling section to enable "highest available tier based on zone level highlighting" beyond level 60 (thx uit)

One thing to note: Before the change certain lvl 60+ items were highlighted by a rare border. Items below itemlevel 60 can't have that border, so it was easy to figure out. Now items that are the best available tier for the zone you are in will have a grey border (like they had before in < 60 zones). They are likely to be lvl 60+ as well, however some bases (the craft ones) begin to drop sooner. Because this rule triggers before the chaos/regal recipe now, there's no distinction between itemlevel <60 and >60 for the "highest available tier based on zone"-items for a couple of the craft bases.

Hope this makes sense :)

tl;dr Make sure the items with a grey bordercolor are itemlevel >60 or >75 before putting them in your chaos/regal recipe stash when you're in 58/59 and 73/74 zones.

I'll test it. Thanks!!

After 30 minutes of testing, it seems it's working fine.

I'll keep testing it. Thanks.

By the way, don't you think currency like Chrome, Alt, Jew, Chance, Chisel, Fusing, Alch, Scouring, Blessed, Regret, Vaal Orb (may be forgetting something) should have a border of their own color (brown~grey) to make it different from Scrolls or Armourer's/Glassblower/Blacksmith's?

And... wouldn't you think it would be nice to make jewels be different from normal/magic/rare items?

Sorry if i'm flooding you with recommendations, but I'm trying to help you to make it better with minor changes.

Please keep them comming, that's the whole reason I published my filter. People tend to forget that their recommendations also increase my gaming experience :)

Low end currency: In the early versions (not published) I've tried several things (lower FontSize -> harder to click, lightly darker TextColor to background them a little -> looks like allocated for somebody else in party play) and none of them survived the first wave of feedback from friends I play with. At some point I just left them as they are.

I now tend to look at these minor changes as personal style / individualisation. E.g. in "my version" of my script (that sounds weird) I still have them a little smaller:

Show
BaseType "Portal Scroll" "Scroll of Wisdom" "Armourer's Scrap" "Blacksmith's Whetstone"
SetFontSize 28

I'm going to write something about this in the filter thread, e.g. how and where to put personal style changes. It's pretty easy in my opinion. Couple recommendations: 1) Be as specific as you can (BaseType instead of Class for example), so there's less chance to overwrite stuff. 2) Safe them in an extra file so you can easily paste them back when new versions arrive.

Jewels:
The question I come back to when thinking about jewels is: Are they gonna be "the shit" to pick up like chroms (free for all as well in some situations) or will they be more like "oh look, another magic jewel noone needs".
Another "unknown" for now is what level they need to be in order to roll the highest available prefixes/suffixes, so they can be highlighted like the T1/Craft ilvl 77+ stuff.

I guess I could add a little highlighting to jewels (and cards) for now and just see where they end up, though. Any ideas?

You're right, maybe jewels are not that great. I have like 8 magic jewels sitting in my stash just because of jewel hype, but they don't seem that useful.

But still, as they aren't part of chance/chaos/regal recipes, I think they should have some kind of differentiation.

About the lowcurrency filters, I'll still be using your final version, as I like it so much, but yeah, any kind of recommendation about making a subtle border for mid-tier currency would be appreciated. I can understand you prefer it as it is right now, it's just a matter of likes.
