Games closes randomly

crashes after 15-20 minutes. packcheck is fine.

maybe it´s the Failed to load bank FMOD/Desktop/ItemFilterEffect.bank with error code 18- shows up in every log but looks not like a major error. any ideas?

My game is crashing (not based on time but rather just playing) and the exact same error is being logged

Was there any resolution to the random crashes? Returning to PoE and would love to enjoy one of my favorite games, but it randomly just keeps locking and exiting the program.

For the people who get a CTD with no error message/exception popup. Had this issue several days back and solved it. Posted a reply in another thread that sounded like the issue I encountered. Just try it out, won't hurt a bit.

Well I give up. For the last two leagues I haven't been able to play. Why? Constant never ending crashes.

Next update, if the problems aren't repaired and they won't be I will quit. I will uninstall the game and walk away.

I really pissed off at this game and GGG. It's a damn fine game but it is NOT PLAYABLE. GOD DAM IT STOP THE FUCKING LAGS.

Trouble shooting options:


1) Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date along with your operating system (I have it set to auto update but some times even when it says it's up to date there are other updates so make sure you click to check for updates just in case)

2) Before opening your game right click your poe icon and select properties / compatability and select run windows 7 mode

3) Right click your poe icon and select properties / shortcut and select "open file location" and locate the "Patch checker" and run it as admin (will check to make sure patches were updated and installed correctly but wont always fix)

4)go into game settings and turn down your graphic settings, not a very good fix but can help people on older pc's with older hardware)

5) Open your event viewer (on windows 10 right click your start menu and select event viewer) go to "Apps" and look through your errors for anything poe related. (event viewer is the most helpful tool and can help you determain corruption in files or bad pathing)

6) If you're using nvidia or even amd you will most likely have some sort of software installed (I have radeon software) , opening your software and creating a profile for your game might help as it could help optimize the game settings for the best performance with your hardware.

If none of those work then its time for the dreaded Uninstall / Install , make sure after you uninstall that you delete the left over GGG/poe folder to make sure its a fresh install. If you don't it could try and direct the installation to that original folder causing the problem to replicate again.

There are a few other methods and i'll update this with them alittle later when home from work.

happens to me solo playing literally 30+ times a day. 100% not pc related, and only started happening in the last patch or 2. Happens the most when I delve. Usually every time I start a delve it happens..... every single level, beat it, move to the next happens again. Didn't happen ever until the last patch or 2. SUPER annoying.

I am not saying this is a/the solution to the constant random crashes, but I did disable multithreading tonight, and I had zero crash. Before that today I had I think 8 crashes, to the point I stopped playing for some hours as I'm playing hardcore and didn't want to die because of a random crash.

So maybe try this on your side of thing: disable multithreading and see how it goes...

OK so now my patience is over, three T16 maps lost because of this. Happens with all my buddies, different hw on all, same realm logged in to, tried different ones.. Have GrindingGear finally gotten enough money from micro transactions so fuck all of us right?
