Cortex mobs are plushy things o) Everything without delirium is a joke in this league.
I am comparing to Chin Sol bow. With it and no other changes turrets takes so much time to shoot once that I am constantly hit by mobs, and with Quill Rain everything just dies in front of me while I am dashing every 1.3 seconds at 224% movement speed. ok so here are some new good finds from me

nvm, had to check "is ignited". 1) FOR SHAPER/BOSS, Fire Penetration provides up to +18-21% more damage over Combustion IF there are no curses like flammability or elemental weakness. With Flammability applied it's still +11-14% more. With Flammability AND Elemental Weakness it's still +6-9% more DPS. (Just for the curious ones: for normal mobs, Combustion is EVEN with Fire Pen IF there are no curses. 8% WORSE if you apply BOTH Flammability and Elemental Weakness, at which point you should think about applying any of these curses cuz they provide like 35% more dps.) Downside - 3 red sockets. Thankfully, with bench socket crafting, even a corrupted item shouldn't take more than ~1ex to color. 2) Bottled Faith. +28% More DPS, according to PoB. But Silver Flask itself gives 10% more due to onslaught, so overall that'd be a 18% more. (BF/Diamond/Quartz/MS/Life). Btw it's 20ex. (We can use a regular Sulphur for ~+15% more dps and life regen. My PoB doesn't calculate it properly, because Consecrated Ground gives +100% "Hits against enemies on consecrated ground have 100% increased critical strike chance" which is on my gear and tree is ~9.6%. The Flask itself gives +40% increased damage too.) 3) Skittered bots apply Shock and chill - +15-17% More DPS from shock, +10% More DPS from Chill-Elemental Hit interaction AND -10-12% less action speed. (PoB doesn't calculate this properly: Is Shocked = 50%, Skitterbots ~15%+) 4) We can link Projectile Weakness + Flammability + BLASPHEMY + Enlighten 4. With Enlighten we can also support Skitterbots and have enough mana for totems. 5) HOWEVER, there is a better way. Storm Brand + Curse on Hit + Projectile Weakness + Flammability. Not only this is a neat way to apply both curses without any mana requirements of Blasphemy or clunkiness of Frenzy, BUT: Sign of Purpose - "grants increased brand attachment range ... and causes enemies to take increased damage for each brand attached on them.". +10% MORE Dps. so overall I'm looking at x1.00 * 1.18 (Bottled Faith over Silver Flask) * 1.16 (Shock) * 1.20 (2nd curse) * 1.1 (Brand ascendancy damage taken increase) * 1.1 (Is Chilled by Skitterbots, Elemental Hit does more damage per ailment) = 1.98 => aka +98% MORE Dps (if I'm not retarded AND everything works as assumed). thoughts? literally my character rn https://pastebin.com/zBFzZAG1 Last edited by etofok#0728 on Apr 2, 2020, 10:21:02 PM

" The 10% more when you tick enemy is chilled comes from EH itself. EH does 10% more dmg per elemental ailment on enemies , so 20% more from skitterbots and 10% more if ignited. In pob I tick enemy is frozen , which is 2 ailements (frozen enemies are always chilled) so I dont have to tick Shock. Like you said , if you tick shock, PoB calculates damage with 50% shocks effect instead of 20% that Skitterbots give us, and then the damage gets inflated. Ticking is frozen doesnt inflate the dmg, but also the dmg it shows is a bit lower than your real dmg ,since you are missing the 20% increased from shock. About penetration , is not a surprise since bosses have "resistance" against curses, if you can get penetration or other methods of lowering resistances then you should take them before curses , but curses are still good and pretty simple to apply , which is a huge QOL. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2844110

I bought a Mary amulet with +1 curse for 20c and just tested the brand curse on hit: overall it works as it curses the whole pack for like 20 seconds (cuz it attaches for 5 seconds and then curses still linger), but since we have NO CAST SPEED it's so comically slow I dunno. It's the same speed as golem summoning. If the ascendancy works as written then it's still +10% more dps. On shaper and guardians it's wouldn't be hard to set it up cuz it's practically speaking a better orb of storms which many of us used before.
as an upside we get the 60% unreserved mana (skitterbots + precision) so we can a) forget about brand ascendancy and use that mana pool for mini MoM b) get another aura or maybe another curse on blasphemy? with kaom I'm outta slots, but since I'm already running Vaal Haste, which I can also run as an aura, well, I can run it as an aura. It's about 8% dps and movement speed (and +10% from the brand ascendancy cuz of opportunity cost) so the choice is between 500ehp and 18% boss dps Last edited by etofok#0728 on Apr 2, 2020, 2:29:38 PM

I have absolutely no slots to spare, but that's a good idea. With 8 totems it already regens 150 mana per second for me. I entertain this mom idea because I have 5500 hp and 560 unreserved mana (with the mom ascendancy) so it fits perfectly. And I think it's better to have +500 hp rather than 10% dps.

Frenzy skill is for frenzy charges. If yo are changing it for brand don't forget to clear Frenzy Charges chechbox o) Or there is another way to get them?
Also I am not going to try to hold bosses on Consecrated Ground. Uptime of increased crit chance and dmg will be 50% max. I think. " Thank you for sharing that video. Clear speed is ok, but my current is two times faster. I am on T16 Awk 4 yet, so it is yet to see how it will be later, but I am going to try to keep it Vei's way o) |
