No Sound whatsoever

NO SOUND! amd phenom 9750 64 bit realtek high def :( im so sad

I had the same problem. No sound.

After some trial and error managed to get it working again.

My sound is going through HDMI (geforce GTX580).

What I did:

Started "Nvidia control panel"
Go to "Set up digital audio"
Under HDMI change to "Turn off audio"
Click Apply

Started the game. No sound of course (just turned it off).

Then changed it back and there was sound again :-)

I have had no sound through my card since starting up the game. System:

Windows 8 x64
Asus Xonar Essence ST Soundcard

Sound works if I pass it through HDMI to my monitor, but sound works for everything else through my SC (I'd much rather use that).

EDIT: I managed to fix mine; driver issue.

sb x-fi here, spdif out, windows 8. No sound.

This fixed mine. Windows 7, x-fi.

Hi I have the same problem and found the solution for me.

right click the short cut "Path of Exile"

> Properties > Target > clear at the end "--nosound" > apply > ok > my sounds is back even with Creative 7.1 channel.

I think due to game update makes the shorcut defaultly no sound.

I too am disappointed this has not been fixed. I created an account at the start of open beta, but not having sound was too much. It makes a game feel dead. Although, I would love to be notified when this changes.

This worked perfectly in steam ( right click on game in list > properties > set launch options ) with my xfi card.

Oh dear..
Couple months ago all sounds were working fully..
I was using Creative X-fi (pcie 1x card) with using normal speakers.
But then I upgraded to use optical digital output, spdif for my new (audio-) monitors(=speakers) and then path of exile is fully muted.
When I launch the game, it does not open any application to show in windows volume mixer, neither any on SPID Out and neither on Speakers ones.
