You prefer AH bots?

Bots are not going anywhere.
No I don't like bots. People need to evaluate what is going to happen to the market once there is a auction house. Especially in regards to bots. Buyouts? I am no expert on the matter but my intuition tells me people might have a rude awakening if/when it gets implemented. I like the poe.trade setup but it's really not new player friendly. It needs to be included within the game. ALT+TAB / COPY PASTE is janky :) |

It's easy to tell the bots as they fill an entire tab with currency instantly. The bigger problems with trade are the fake listings to manipulate the market where you're never going to get a response.
Also there's certain people who's live search is considerably faster than poe.trade and the official trade site so by the time it pops up on live search it's already sold. I listed a multiple ex item a few ex cheaper than the market price to test this out and got 1 message a good 60 seconds before the spamming started. Anyone who has this ability has a significant advantage to make multiple mirrors easily each day. Just take Inspired learning's for example. Close to 30 ex at this point but there's still 5-10 listed every day for < 1ex so whoever is buying all of them has a license to print mirror's just by having earlier knowledge of listed items. Trade is a serious flaw in the game and GGG need to address it sooner or later. |

" Basically what's going to happen is that bots are going to operate with roughly the same trade efficiency they do now, they're already capable of treating the current system exactly like an auction house. We already have buyouts, they can sell while the person is actually playing the game, and they can search the websites for trades already and buy stuff. Players will however get a boost in that they can play the game and sell stuff, and they can buy stuff more efficiently. We're already in prime botting territory, a buyout auction house will reduce the efficiency delta between botters and real people. Also it would turn the bots back into the bad guys, because as of right now they're the good guys solving a lot of trade problems right now. |

I can imagine GGG implementing a buggy as hell auction house too. Everyone is gonna be playing SSF for a league or 2 HAHAHA.
It's in the realm of possibilities don't you think ? Hope they leave poe.trade as a backup plan! |

This is a fun thread.
It reminds me of medieval history, during which christian church was opposed to taking interest. It was considered un-christian, which is why christian folks were prohibited from asking interest on loans. In some Muslim countries it's the same situation in our current time. However, there was no such prohibition for Jews. Economically speaking interest is absolutely crucial because otherwise you end up losing money by loaning it out without compensation, but those days people were set in their ways. Of course, we know how it ended up: it turned out that interest actually vigorated European economy and benefited everyone involved. A few Jewish families became financial giants. People also ended up accepting interest for money which is still absolutely necessary for any modern economy. But you know, asking for interest is bad. It must be, why else had the church been ideologically opposed to it for centuries. Right? Last edited by vmt80#6169 on Jul 9, 2019, 3:18:16 PM

Bots are great to buy from they give very meaningful player interaction

" The amusing part is that many people claim they hate AH but are happy that the game has bots for trading. That is the big irony. I have seen games that had an AH and did just fine, Guild Wars 2 being a prime example and Runescape with its Grand Exchange. Were there some bots making bank? Sure, but in 99% of the cases the players are benefiting from it. |

" The big thing to talk about is how much better botting is than not botting. As of right now botting is a whole lot better than not botting, you get to constantly execute transactions while also playing the game, versus not executing any transactions while playing the game. If we had automated trade botting wouldn't really get better, it would still allow you to constantly execute transactions, while also playing the game. However not botting with an AH allows you to execute sale transactions while playing and quickly execute buy transactions and get back to playing. As of where we stand now botting would get less comparatively lucrative with automated trade. |
