Things like CheatGuard and Vanguard have always been around. I'm not sure why you're acting like it's somehow a recent thing, or why it means trade improvements would depend on them to be successful. Plenty of server side checks could be used to mitigate most of the really egregious stuff.

1. They do not work,
2. They cost fuckton of money,
3. Bot companies are bigger then EA and can make workarounds faster then you you make countermeasures.
4. Bots exist in every single game, winning is impossible
5. If you think you have idea how to solve that problem, share it , you would make billions because nobody ever did. But im 200% sure its nothing new and failed already countless times.

I didnt encountered many bots. They are easly recognizable though : on currency markets, bot are those with XX XXXXX currency in bank.

Otherwise, most are simply mercurytrade / Poetrade companion users.

i don't know but it sure looks like its legal.
you see very obvious trade bots going at it for the whole league ; i can only assume its legal at this point.

i actually appreciate the few bots i recognize since they never ignore and always trade, always at the same pace, very reliable. heh.

This is the ONE post where input from someone from official GGG people - would be highly beneficial to many people.
