Makes you wonder if the entire series is no different, just the extra long battle scene gave the more devoted fans time to really think about it.

People are mad because they have to throw their elaborate theories in the garbage. I'm in the same boat but I'm not mad. I already made up new theories so it's all good.

Many people have pointed out that the series has gone downhill ever since it ran out of book material to follow. This is best exemplified by the diminishment of the trio of plotters that was Tyrion, Varys and Littlefinger. But by that point it was already over halfway through the whole story, and so fans were caught by then, determined to see it through to the end. I'm ultimately okay with Arya killing the NK, but they way they displayed it was a directorial horror show.
Just... magical ninja girl teleportation? Really? Off the top of my head they could have shown 1-2 seconds of: - The Hound throwing her from a rooftop - Arya removing a white walker disguise - A secret tunnel that Arya knows about - Sneaking into the tree and descending from a limb - All the white walkers turning around as she runs past them, even ... but no. Just floops, she teleported. Anything at all would have been sufficient. Then again, this is the same director that doesn't know the difference between a scene actually being dark and implying that a scene is dark. EDIT: Just after I posted this, saw this from /r/got to show how it could have been: Battle scene brightened. --- Sure it would have been better for Jon to be more involved with the NK. That was really his deal, and Arya is more meant to focus on Cersei. I have no idea what Jon is gonna do for the next three episodes other than maybe sit around in Winterfell, or lead a group of people to start rebuilding the Wall. Like once more alright the people even defending the tactics are beyond help right here alright
The dorathaki are considered to be one of the most powerful army in the world the only people who even beat them are the unsullied and they're allies now so the plan was to give them enchanted fire weapons and pretty much push through / charge through the undead in the middle of the darkness. Now Dorathaki are 1/2 of her Jon's and dannys forces and just like that they were wiped out in a heartbeat so you basically 1/2 of your forces through lets say 100,000+++ Undead that swarm through the place like zergling's. The writer who pretty much wrote this needs to be punched in the nose straight up like I can deal with NK being gone just like that but I can't deal the amount of stupidity in warfare no commander would just straight up do that.

So basically 3/4 of Jon's and danny's forces are obliterated now you can basically just cheat with the dragons vs Cercei but once more you got plot armor in the show and they're probably going to die in stupid ways in terms of the dragons.
