I want to ask. Just throwing ideas. What do you all think about divergent frost shield / frost shield? I wondering the defense + crit chance is good enough for us to use ACD over CE?

I wish there was a better search function to just search this thread as there is information in it about Frost Shield that I made long ago.

I am 100% sure I experimented with Frost Shield a few leagues ago but I can't remember exactly why I stopped. Back then we did not have the EO issue we have today with Controlled Destruction so I don't think I would have paid attention to the crit chance but you make a good observation that it should help EO now.

I don't quite have a good feel for how many stages we can expect to get. I know the skill causes use to lose ES, but our build has multiple ways to recover ES immediately (shield and Divine Shield) and I don't know what that does to the stages in Frost Shield.

I may have stopped using it simply because it was another self cast spell and I like to limit that as much as possible when playing. I also seem to remember not liking the cool down time (but that may have been something else).

If you experiment with this, please let us know about the EO uptime. Anything we can do to fix the EO uptime and still use CD would be very welcomed!

In doing a quick test in POB, I am unsure even a level 21 at the max 4 stages is going to give enough crit chance to make a difference.....

Edit: I now wonder if I died twice because I switched to using Arakaali/spinner of false hope to fight the hunter guardian, and forgot to switch back to Solaris/warmonger to protect against chain crits

I meant to mention something about the Hunter Conqueror. I think I have been fighting him wrong for ever.

Normally, I whittled him down a bit and then run like a headless chicken when the snakes pop up in the middle and then repeat this process when the snakes drop down and then eventually pop back up on the sides.

By almost mistake I found that when the snakes pop up on the sides, I can just stand right on top of them and incinerate away. My health never moves. It is like I am too close to them to be hit. And since I don't run, no others besides the first two ever pop up.

It makes killing the hunter much quicker. I have done this probably 8 times already and has worked every time. I have no idea why I always ran during that outside stage in the past.

Because who would think standing on top of scary snakes is safe?!?!!

Thanks for this tip haha

But people do it every league so it is clearly possible, even in SSF.

I think a lot of people get to 100 by doing group runs, maybe paid. Like juiced up Chayula runs (something I read but know nothing about)

This is correct for trade leagues. The SSF guys though grind it out alone although I have no idea how given how much time it has to take.

There are 26 SSF guys who have already gotten to 100, in hard core mode no less, in Scourge. That is insane...

I only did it because I was lazy and realized I could kill Hunter before they could kill me so I just stood still. And then I noticed my health did not budge from the snakes spitting.

Next time I just stood there for 20 seconds to test it and they did not hit me at all (the Hunter did but his attacks are meaningless to us).

Every time since I just don't move on that phase. I don't know if I am just getting lucky or not but it makes the fight much quicker to finish.

Note that you still do have to run when the snakes who pop up in the middle. They can do some real damage even with capped chaos res.

This is a weird fight. It might be one of the few in the entire game where the minions are more dangerous than the boss.

I feel the same about the Chimera adds too, they are more dangerous then Chimera himself ^^
Hey I seem to never actually trigger Elemental Overload - how does one actually trigger it? Tempest Shield?

First of all, the icon for elemental overload is now a small diamond in your skill bar's incinerate icon, it's no longer its own status buff icon at the top of the screen.

Second, if you are using controlled destruction in your incinerate link then your chance to trigger this is very low, so a lot of us switched to using concentrated effect now.

Elemental overload only works for the skill that triggers it nowadays, so it's incinerate that is triggering it.

Edit: I see you are using controlled destruction. If you hate the "t-rex arms reach" of using concentrated effect, I would suggest using arcane surge in the main link then. A little less damage the concentrated effect, but you are basically guaranteed arcane surge is always active.

I been trying out my CD with onslaught flask (with crit chance) + diamond flask (with reduced curse) - With recovery charges when hit by enemy and used when flask is full. My EO uptime feels quite good so far (without any additional passive like nimbleness).

For players like me who find it hard to rely on infernal warcry most of the time, the much bigger AOE feels great actually.

I think I am getting like 3.3 crit chance most of the time? Given that I'm in juiced maps most of the time the flask is always up. Not sure about big bosses though, but I would appreciate the longer range against shaper.

If all goes well I going to sell my glove and get a better one without unnerve haha (maybe one that give cast speed or crit chance?)
