That's great news! How did you feel the defenses performed? One of my concerns was the low net regen with RF. Was the regen combined with es on block enough to not seem squishy?

Lets do a direct comparison of Elementalist with out RF and Inquisitor with RF in terms of life and es regen

Baseline numbers below come from:

*Elementalist: Using Clay's level 97 from 3.16

*Inquisitor: Using the current level 98 theory craft we have been working on this league

Elementalist life regen: 298.4
Elementalist ES regen: 0

Inquisitor, with RF active, net life regen: 264
Inquisitor, with RF active, net ES regen: 264

Note that these numbers above are for both classes standing still.

These numbers look pretty good with RF on compared to the Elementalist with no RF.

If for some reason in the game you want to have even more regen, if you turn off RF in the Inquisitor, these are the regen numbers

Inquisitor, with RF inactive, net life regen: 739
Inquisitor, with RF inactive, net ES regen: 739

I know for certain Clay believed his 3.16 felt very tanky this league when he played with it.

If our theory craft holds for the Inquisitor, even with RF on, we will have similar life regen, better ES regen, better armor, and full ailment immunity (Elementalist only had freeze and shock immunity).

The one big item we seem to be losing is AOE. How that plays out will likely depend on the league mechanic.

I have also never used Corrupted Soul. I do not quite understand how that is going to feel with this build. I am hopeful our life leech and life regen can keep us safe here. I am probably being paranoid but I am a bit afraid that we could die with plenty of ES still available because of the bypass mechanic.

But overall, I really like where we are sitting with the information we have today with Inquisitor.

Thoughts/comments?

Out of curiosity, I was wondering how expensive this build will be to "complete".

This is using 3.16 pricing and prices could drastically change in 3.17 but this is the best we have for now. I am going to price good to perfect rolls but no crazy corruptions. Note that some of these prices will be much lower for decent but not perfect rolls.

Some of these numbers will be estimated as well as looked up. With it being so late in the league I am going to use my experience to help set some of the numbers to what they would be in the first month of a league.

-Perfect rolled Cerberus Limb: 100c
-Perfect rolled Aegis Aurora: 4ex (our once lonely shield is really popular now)
-Crown of Inward Eye with Incin enchant: 1ex
-Skin of the Lords (3r3b): 50c
-Gloves: 2-3ex
-Perfect ES rolled Stampede Boots: 50c
-Leadership's Price* (with +3 to Fire and something positive to the other 2 resistances): ~10ex (seen some as low as 6ex)
-Well rolled Circle of Anguish(HOA): 1.5ex
-Coward's Legacy Belt: 85c
-The 5 cluster jewels will run roughly about 5ex at most. Could be much less considering we only need 2 nodes on the large cluster. The 5ex leaves plenty of room to grab corrupted blood immunity on Natural Affinity
-Perfect rolled Thread of Hope: ~1ex
-Enlighten 4: 11ex
-Empower 4: 9ex
-Awaken Fire Pen Level 5: 100c
-Watcher's Eye with Vulnerability and Determination mods: 2ex
-Budget maybe 10ex for every thing else I did not mention

So we could roughly finish the build in the POB theory craft for ~60-70ex which is about the range we have spent in the past for a similar level build on the Elementalist. Scary that almost 33% of the cost will be on Enlighten and Empower. GGG crushing the drop rates of these gems has sky rocketed the prices.

* I have adjusted our baseline POB to have a 3-1-1 max res on the amulet to be more reasonable to afford in the league for the POB.

sirus a9 down, deathless, without lifeflask, good enough for me:) I'm not using corrupted soul, I feel it safer this way.

I am considering a small change to the Inquisitor Crit curse set up.

Normally I don't like changing gems while playing but I think I am going to add the following to the theory craft notes section:

Flammability when mapping
Assassins Mark only against the big bosses

That's awesome! I really appreciate you testing out this version and giving some real ingame feedback!

As I mentioned earlier, I don't have any real game experience with corrupted soul. What do you think of using his tree set up, which is lower health pool, higher capped resists, higher regen and no corrupted soul?

I don't know what map mods were on that T16 map but he was barely getting tickled.

That's the reason I was concerned without ingame testing. The life regen is more than enough to sustain RF, but if it was enough to keep our life topped off while also taking damage due to 50% bypasses ES and going straight to life.

Thanks to Brigetiol's testing I think we can probably drop Corrupted Soul and not even worry about that issue.

For your price estimate everything looks good. On a budget it should be safe to get a Leadership's Price with negative cold. +3 fire, +1 light, and -2 cold is listed right now for only 1ex. Even at -3 cold our overall max will still be 80%. I would say a positive cold roll is only required if planning on uber elder farming.

Brigetiol, what points did you take in place of Corrupted Soul to get positive ES regen?

Edit: Nevermind Brigetiol. You're profile is public. :-)

Here is his tree. I think he picked up two extra max fire res points in Annointed Flesh and Barbarism. The other points in Annointed Flesh are wasted though because of Purity of Elements.

I may play around later today trying to use his tree into our crafted POB. I will post if anything looks good.

you are welcome, I'm happy to do something useful, even if it is just in the virtual world:) meanwhile tried to anoint golem commander, 2 stone golems, just to see if it is worth, but if you already can sustain rf, it is not game-changing.

It was very helpful!! Thank you.

Just a note about using two Stone Golems: Their buffs do not stack in terms of life regen. You only get the life regen from one of them no matter how many Golems you have active.
