Our Reasoning Behind the 3.13 Launch Delay

I don't usually post on the forum but the amount of bs in this thread is staggering. Don't u people have brains?

1. Almost every company, even the big boys plan their releases around other games. They just don't tell their playerbase. Some people are actually bashing ggg for openly admitting the financial reasons behind the delay and accusing them of lying to us for not stating that they can't deliver 3.13 on time. You do realise how absurd this idea is right? Delaying for a reason that was 100% going to be unpopular with many people and attract hate instead of giving a PR speech about quality launches and them needing more time to polish everything which would have gone much better with the majority of players. You realise you are asking to be lied to right?

2. If you think Cyberpunk won't affect interest in PoE and that streamers are not important... you are either 12 years old or have no clue about financial realities and I am sure there are a lot of life choices you should be reevaluating.

3. For the people hoping for a 4-month release cycle... it's not gonna happen. This is a free to play game that gets it's revenue at league launches and starts massively loosing players after 1 month. Not to mention income (how many supporter packs or mtx do you think people buy at the mid/end of a league). So please understand you are asking ggg to make 30% less money per year. Which is simply not viable.

On a more positive note, I did not need an explanation either way. If the game is delayed the game is delayed and that's it. But I really appreciate the open attitude of GGG. Hats off

Just looked and its release was close to 3.13 and would have obliterated you as well, the graphics look so good and being blizzard, you KNOW you are assured of great game quality, unlike the hiest level of bugs/ lag etc we have become conditioned to expect from a poe season.

So i can buy a supporter pack (never consider until at least week 3 or 4 of alpha testing to see if i enjoy the league and of course, how many game ruining bugs you leave in it so no lifers can exploit it) or i can by a whole complete polished A grade game. Shadowlands it is, i also bought cyberpunk just from the hype you generated too.

I'm not a whale, i am a consumer with a well paying job and i'll let my wallet speak for my actions.

i never heard of cyberpunk til now, i watched a few minutes of the gameplay video and it looks super boring and similar to every other game of the same type. soo... looks like u screwed urself over lol

I really love how you guys were blunt and honest. Especially when it comes to admitting how the business model for the company works. Many developers find dodgy excuses for delaying something, because they want to avoid admitting "it's bad for making us money". Not you guys. You were honest with yourselves first, recognizing big industry names and launches; and honest with your player base. Seeing a developer's post like this (with swearing included) was refreshing. I like where this is going :D

I have never seen another game company that pay this much attention to feedback and as transpatent about goals and decisions. Full support, in fact i ll go buy a support pack to show it.

I, personally, am not waiting for CP2077 and I was upset with CEDEP and their realase delay not you.

Sound reasoning

The problem with poe is its just NOT fun to play anymore. Its a chore. I already have a job i don't need or want a second job when i get home from the one that pays.

poe has never understood player time is valuable, you only see the bottom line of retention and therefore only cater to the 1%, How's that working out??

Clearly the 1% will stay and play no matter what you say or do, but you don't make money off them anymore. The other 99% as you surmised, will leave to go play fun games like cyberpunk, shadowlands and D4 when released

It looks awesome i am so excited i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! and hey, its my money and i want to play something over my x-mas holidays. Its ggg loss.

You guys are great and its a great idea.. don't listen to the haters.. most hate everything under the sun so you will never please them.
