PoE used to be a game in the style of classic ARPGs, a game about character power progression through the mindless slaying of thousands of monsters. Just pulling the slot machine lever thousands of times a day. It was the best in its genre. It absolutely took over the mantle from Diablo 2, but it has since set that mantle on fire.
Having to sit in a state of extreme focus your whole gaming session because literally every screen has something on it (or just outside it, shooting at you from afar) that's going to one shot you is straight up not something that belongs in this genre. When bosses are hard, no problem. You should be scared for your life feeling your blood pumping for the 5 minutes or whatever it takes you to kill something like Sirus or Maven. If you're running maps for 12 hours to just grind through some monsters it gets exhausting when in spite of your efforts to play a defensively solid character, some ground effect or post-death effect is going to kill you with regularity just because there's so damn much of it everywhere at all times, some of it is bound to hit you where you're weak at some point. I think making Archnemesis core is easily the worst change you have ever made to this game, and mostly because of just how pervasive it is. It dumpsters, ruins, literally all content. Essence mobs and red beasts are of course ridiculous, as are any league-specific rares added since whenever you started adding mob types every league with increasing levels of base health and damage to make them challenging. The whole "running after a cart through the darkness" of Delve is at its core incompatible with massive HP sponge rares. As is the "hurry up, let's get out of this place"-vibe of Heist. It seems like your solution to this in 2022 would be make the Delve cart slower (and probably nerf Azurite drops for some reason). It should instead be obvious that if Archnemesis makes you have to do balance passes and changes to ALL league content lest it be overly punishing -- balance changes you haven't even made -- the problem is with Archnemesis. Nobody asked for this. People are constantly telling you how much they don't like it. Why do you insist on it? This used to be such a fun game. If you were dropping less lifeforce to reduce the amount of clicks in a Harvest, what's wrong with dropping it all at once after we kill the monsters (like getting all the crafts at the end in original Harvest)? Why not make it 1 click to start the plot harvest instead of 2 (select the plot and then move your mouse to start the harvest)? Harvest already feels bad because of the removal of some of the crafts, and I don't think this is going to help.
Isn't it a huge sign that lots of the top streamers are playing different leagues, or considering just skipping the league altogether? The loot changes that you outline aren't going to adequately address that. Not many people are going to care about getting slightly more rare item drops that are closer to their character level. Archnemesis has been changed, what, 6 or 7 times in the last few patches? It's pretty obvious that it hasn't been the best fit for the game so far. It seems like it's exacerbated (or potentially caused) a lot of the issues with loot that people are seeing at the moment. No mention of ultrawide support being taken away with no notice. A completely tone-deaf plug for mystery boxes at the end of the post. Despite the exellent QoL changes that were added this league, I decided not to play LoK and I am considering not playing in Standard until next league. This post doesn't raise my confidence that much. Last edited by chakra#1485 on Aug 22, 2022, 1:20:07 AM

So toned deaf with the community. One man vision and ego destroyed the whole franchise. Shame

This is beyond disappointing. If it's what I should expect from PoE2, I won't be playing it.

fuck archnemesis, its a mistake just admit it and go back

"It's worth noting here that a widely-shared clip of a player opening an Arcanist's Strongbox and receiving no items has caused some of the concern about potentially bugged item drops. We believe this was caused by the change where common currency drop less frequently, but in larger stacks, which we made a number of leagues ago. We will fix this specific Arcanist's Strongbox issue."
I can confirm this . Is not specific to Kalandra league. This bug is , a few leagues ago , old . |

As a poe player since talisman I'm telling you that you are doing a good job on killing your own game. Even Talisman league was superior to this league.
You don't get it Archnemesis mods aren't fun. Not to mention they kill build diversity. |

so... if you fully invest in Harvest ... and find a way ... to get to red maps ... you finally get 2 crafts in harvest? from 40 to 2 ? not bad ... who wrote this? who tested these changes and said it`s ok ??? I`m trying to be polite here ... but the same build from the last league that was doing RED maps T16 ... can`t do yellow maps ... if you stack 6-7 archnemesis mods on top of 5 essence mods (up to 8) and add some tormented spirits to spice things up ... and if somehow you are "lucky" to get Soul Eater on that monster ... he will decimate you...there is no Defense in the game for this ... not even Aegis 80% block/spell block and 100% spell suppression with 90% resists and 2 mil Armour will save you from that
