What We're Working On

Well, I was looking forward to playing the league.

The league mechanic is nice but the fact that there is barely any loot makes me rethink leagues going forward. If I have to grind 20+ maps to find any kind of upgrade in EARLY MAPPING I'll wait until PoE2 comes out and give that a shot.

With the current loot, that is the very little that is to speak of, finding a rare or even anything that shows on a semi-strict filter is almost like finding a unique in the previous league. In other words, the amount of drops is underwhelming and none of them are meaningful in any way whatsoever.

Good job dropping the nerf hammer on the arguably most important part of the game.
dudes we are not getting currency to work with. issue is not about not getting 4 rare astral plates off a rare but getting the same amount of crafting currency in act2 and t14 reds too.

its bad for people on trade, and i assume its significantly worse for those are on SSF
This announcement just show how ggg ego is just unbelievable, player's prove their point about drops and complain right about tons of things and the answer we get is basically "we gonna keep the same thing that absolutely nobody is having a good time with because we own the game, but take 1% of improvement in rewards and stop crying".

Those " stronger monster being more rewarding " is just pure crap, over 10000 killed rare monster probably like 10 will give u something useful or decent currency, makes no sense creating a super tanky mob or super fast (yeah, everybody loves a good hasted/frenzy mob ) that u take forever to kill and in the end will give you 1 transmutation.

Also, league mechanic is outside maps, wich already decreases the amount of reward per map so it should be rewarding doing the mechanic for the tablet and doing the tablet u should feel being rewarding for it, right? OF COURSE NO, 1 table after like 10 maps and when u do it the caches and stuff won't reward you at all for your effort.

Everyone understand that you guys wanted to make the game harder and etc but there's no point making it harder and drop the rewards you get for doing stuff to 0. Keep losing player's time after time because it's just boring and frustating doing a mechanic and geting 1 alteration as a reward, the proof of this is the insane amount of player's that are going for heist related stuff now.

So far, really enjoying new league.
"Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason
is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms."

Loot in general just feels much worse than it did before.
These changes would be fine if they're like... today.

But I really think more needs to be addressed by the first week. Monster health really needs to be normalized in a blanket way and not have all these weird outliers and things multiplying together.

How strong Archnemesis modifiers are reminds me of 8 year old PoE that was all about damage conversion double dipping. They feel like they're double dipping. They need diminishing returns on all the mods and auras etc.

Also, I'm frankly glad to just block Harvest on my Atlas and spend elsewhere, but I really think Harvest should be rewarding for those who like doing it. Why not make it good, but just require more investment similar to Delve or something so people who love it can enjoy it?
Also un-nerf Delve, because that's the one I like, and it actually requires investment. Lmao. :/

i've not gotten to maps in league so take it for what it is. i also tend to believe the poe community overreacts.

but if full mf groups aren't sustaining, that says there's a legitimate problem. the only things i've ever had to work to sustain, as a mid-level player, were sextants and chisels. and i could sell low tier maps for an endless amount of chisels. sextants were tough, but that's fine.

did you over-tune the new drops to focus on bases, while simultaneously hard-nerfing the crafting sytem? because i would 1000% every time prefer consistent currency drops over base drops. we can trade for bases, or be frugal with the ones we get. especially leveling. this is not a league that promotes engagement with the mechanic pre-maps. so we need not be worrying about the drops before maps. we need to have map sustain and at least standard juice sustain. full mf groups should certainly be doing their normal thing with another piece to their maps.

again i haven't reached mapping at this point so i can't speak firsthand. just reading all the things.

i also can't disagree with the archnemesis mod just being an unnecessary "exalt slam" of your own. its a mechanical issue that doesn't really treat the player fairly. idc if a mob takes 10x as long to kill or hits 10x as hard, but it can't do both. you've tweaked the game away from tanks and into casters, you can't then punish casters with such an enemy mod so consistently. pick one or the other.

idc about the ex/div swap, still the same sound in my loot filter and same price on the market. might be a bit tight on the ability to collect divs because of the lack of shards/recipes, but whatever. the bigger issue is in sustain it does seem. no sustain = no economy. there's no market if the players can't generate the stock. unless you want to rely on bots, which isn't wise if you don't want to become the next WoW.

i've only done one mirror because as literally anyone has said, just get to maps first. but i do appreciate a simple juicing mechanic, if it is something consistent. i like essences, i like breaches, i like things that add to my maps regularly without taking me out of that map for too long if at all.

i haven't experienced a harvest yet, but i am very disappointed that with the change to a more singular, currency-focused harvest, you've removed a lot of the fun stuff. i fully expected things like "change x stack to another stack of x" to remain. i expected to have re-roll suffixes and keep prefixes and etc. you can't ultra nerf everything like that. take it away from tft fine, i never used it. but don't then take away the sweet stuff that made it more than a second crafting bench. if i'm going to spend 5-20 minutes away from my map, make it good.

you went too hard in both directions. you made harvest less social and profitable, while also making it less unique and experimental. that's just too much. you should have focused on the former and left the latter. scale the fun crafts down a tier or something if you're worried about the power. heck there's apparently a huge lack of harvest currency generation so, you already did enough to the fun stuff and locked it to grinding harvest. that could be fine with the removed crafts being re-added.

all-in-all as i've said i'm not to maps yet, will be tomorrow, so i'm not a firsthand account. and again i think there's tons of overreacting in this community, sorry boys, but nothing is ever good enough. that being said, i do not like hearing sustain is a massive issue. i do not like harvest being nerfed in three ways even though i am not a tft user. i don't like archnemesis only being "addressed" pre-red maps. i don't like this language that seems to insinuate that gear slot drops were buffed while rare mobs are less frequent, seemingly overriding the drop rate of currencies, hence presenting the inability to sustain.

EDIT to the players, if you're really falling back on d4, i pray for you. let's not think that that developer is some bastion of gaming.

You guys are on a one way street to losing the player base.

The changes you have made are outright hostile to the players. The ArchNem enemies and their mods are clearly broken beyond repair and you have no clue what to do about it. Roll them back entirely out of the game and roll back the loot system changes, too.

Clearly none of this has even remotely been tested or balanced to where it should have been and considering it's the only thing you even did in the last 6 months, something is clearly going horribly wrong behind the scenes that us players are not being briefed about.

I can understand why a number of players are e-mailing support and requesting refunds on their supporter pack purchases.
Love the current league, but I suppose some just demand more and more.

Keep up the good work, GGG. Don't let the naysayers keep you guys (and all others) down.
I swear to god Josh Strife Hayes is gonna make one of his Death of a game videos for this game. And this here post is gonna be one of the clues why it died.
Revert the loot changes. Remove the stupid archnemsis.
