What Happened with Items

99% of your vocal player base hates archnemesis but its a hill you seem to be willing to die on. So be it I guess.

Regular players do map in transmutation or scouring, map mods are so annoying these days and get no reward fit on it's difficulty.

it wont be better until they either revert the loot (which seems unlikely like removing AN it's another talisman forever in the game cuz reasons) or you will have to wait until 4.10 (poe2) most likely to kinda see the loot buffed overtime

For players who are juicing their content to extreme levels with six-person parties, dedicated MF cullers and stacked league mechanics, they no longer have Beyond to push things over the edge. But they still find ridiculous amounts of stuff. I have seen parties in this league get multiple mirrors per day, or find over 50 Divine Orbs from a single monster.


There are two big issues here that went completely unaddressed:

1) You admitted that you fucked up because you let a change get implemented that wasn't properly tested and was mentioned "in passing". So why did it take you 6 days to properly explain yourself, and still not eat crow and revert the change? What this appears to be is you quadrupling down on this change. So either kick the can and implement a properly-tested version of this bullshit change during the next league, or admit that you did this purely to protect your sales and not have another down quarter.

2) I cannot believe I have to explain this to you, but the groups finding 50 divine orbs from a single monster are literally using 3rd party tools to datamine their maps. There is a 3rd party HUD that can tell you whether a Solaris-touched monster (or whatever other kind of X-touched monster) exists within your map before you enter it so that you can sit in hideout with a magic find party spamming maps until one procs, go in, kill it, and then come back out. That's the behavior you want to push players toward? You're legitimately telling players "Hey, if you want to push the game to the extreme, engage in behavior that at the very least pushes the envelope of the TOS and risk getting banned.

I honestly cannot believe how much ignorance about your own game you were able to demonstrate in a single paragraph. I've never been more certain that no one at GGG actually plays this game. What an absolute joke.
It shouldn't be normal to use 4 chisels, 1 alch and a vaal orb on a t16 map and get just 4 chromes and 1 alch.

There are some archmemes mobs that gives some nice currency, but they rarely appear, and when they do, it's not in a juiced map because we cannot even sustain it in the current state of the game.
Where's the link to the 50 divine or drop? I think it's funny that it's believed party play is in an "acceptable" place. When group play barely breaks even. Resorting to Heisting and doing lab runs. The new farming method being speed mapping, find the arch nemesis and killing it. Then leaving the map? Is this what your intentions were? Cuz I'd much rather go back to leagues where any mechanic you did was profitable. Do you like doing breach and einhar beasts? It use to be profitable, but the rewards are pathetic now. Killing a metamorph monster? It should drop catalysts. Repeatedly getting nothing from beating a metamorphs head in feels terrible. Pentupling down on this changes makes me feel sick to my stomach when it comes to one of my most played games ever at 4500 hours. Hundreds of dollars spent because I use to appreciate the care they put into the community. Still no harvest reverts to bring back keep suffix/prefix? Feels like they want to kill crafters. No longer having any motivation to make mirror tier items because instead of going back to step 5/9 with keep prefixes, you can brick your item entirely.
It just screams out of touch with creating the new speed meta of rushing to archnem monsters, killing then leaving. Ignoring all league mechanics except certain chests like Legion/Blight etc. Obviously loot feels bad when you lose money doing other mechanics based on killing mobs, but don't worry. Archnem rng drops counteract it. I'm not sure how much more disrespect I can take from the game I use to love. Previously striving to make my character as strong as possible to do all content in the game. Including 5 orb solo juicing a map to the extreme use to be the goal. Now just feels like a waste of time with the only mobs worth killing are the archnems one.
Thanks for this, much appreciated, and very well put together. At the same time, I feel there's still quite a few issues with balance left, drops aside.

On a personal level, I approve of the changes and philosophy, as well as a general reduction in top-end loot.

However, the balance of Archnemesis remains very limiting to build-diversity, as they represent a danger spike far above any other content in the game and redesign whole encounters. Archnemesis isn't fun, isn't interesting, and isn't "engaging" - it simply forces players to die if they aren't doing all the should without any recourse for flexbility or mistakes (or just being more casual about it), and sometimes even if they do everything right they die.

what about harvest? feels like crafting was nerfed in multiple ways due to the combination of ex cost switching to divine for metamod (considering the much lower supply and higher demand for divine) and the removal of some of the most important harvest crafts.
Would have been nice to get a clarification in the patchntoes too, beyond "removed filler crafts" obviously.
Other than that, I highly appreciate you guys sharing / explaining your viewpoints atleast.
