Thanks for the post Chris. Removing the league drop disparity ultimately makes sense, given PoE 2 isn't going to carry them all over.

Do you have a standard character to pick away at as time allows? Very good news to hear playtesters will get feedback in earlier.

Could the drop conversion system up-convert currency or other drops? So that in the cases where a stack of something drops it converts into a higher tier currency instead (ex. 40 scraps/20 whetstones turning into a few gcp or chisels).

This could help even out the AN rewards a bit if extended further (ex. up-converting flasks could add enchants or super quality), it feels sometimes like they're eating the drops atm.

Improvements to testing and communication in the future

There's a lot to unpack from the above pile of mistakes. I believe that the intention was good, but there were significant deficiencies in testing and communication. I take personal responsibility for those areas, because they happened on my watch. I'm the Game Director for Path of Exile 1, and it is absolutely unacceptable that I can miss a change that has the consequences that the league monster one did. Changes like that need to be very, very carefully tested, have their consequences fully understood, and then be communicated clearly. I have let you down and I will not allow it to happen again.

Sorry, but I don't believe you. I don't think anyone other than the biggest koolaid drinkers and streamers who enjoy the access to GGG believe you (and the latter likely still don't but won't say so because their streaming income depends on it).


You don't get another one of these screw ups Chris. You don't get to do this every few leagues. If you want to rebuild trust, it will take time, honesty and INTEGRITY.

Because I guarantee you Chris - you tested people with the nerf in 3.15, then killed crafting this league. You screw up this bad one more time - you may as well pull the plug on the game yourself.

Ok I have 70 Armor and 75 Weapon orbs. 5 Jewelers 0 Fusing's 1 Alc, 4 chaos. The currency drops are soooo bad I am having to farm in story line areas for basic currency because even t1 maps are hazardous and not worth the risk.

I wish I could share the screen shots of the BS Rares I have come across that I didn't stand a chance with because I can't even upgrade my gear and too poor to buy it, and too weak to do the garbage you made Harvest into!

If you want to tell the community, this is what we want to do like it or not. Just say it. Don't need to spread it out over pages of text.

Sounds like all these changes you want to implement should have been done in a PTR and not the live game. That way you can get proper feedback instead of doing internal testing.

You're trying to much to be like a big budget dev company but even they test potentially game changing changes before putting them on the live product.
