Haven't PoE 2 devteam learned from d4 devs?
" I agree with most of the things you said, but if people want to actually play the game and take it slowly, there's hc/ruthless, and there are slower games like grim dawn (which is 100x better than ruthless poe). Assuming that most of the people who consistently make it to the endgame in poe 1 are avid for speed and explosions all over the screen, why would these people even play poe 2 if it's not going to be anything like its predecessor? If poe 2 is forced ruthless, merely to attract casuals who want to enjoy the experience and take it slowly, GGG will just be shooting itself in the foot, because personally as a player with about 4000 hours in poe 1, I would never want to play a game like that. What exactly am I grinding for if I'm not going to be fast and strong enough to one shot everything on the screen? That's the biggest reason I play poe in the first place. Because again, it's not worth playing otherwise, as there are better games out there. Last edited by auspexa on Oct 26, 2023, 10:02:43 AM

" How can you learn anything from d4? I've played a lot of D3 and Wow and I would never in my life buy any garbage from the company. It's all about milking money with minimal effort. or as explained in the interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLNf_7lt5TU I tend to play other games and can't take POE1 seriously. I won't even install poe2 after the preview videos. but hope dies last... but if they wanted to learn, they would have learned it long ago! There are EXTREMELY many games that do almost everything better. ruiner shows how you can do it. very good engine with clear color design. So the background is blue, dangerous stuff is red and gun shots are yellow. So no piles of shit on the screen at 10 fps like in POE1, where you have to react within 1 second and in the end you don't even know what mindless nonsense killed you........ or warframe! There is no loot filter there because there is no pointless waste on the floor that no one needs. very good engine that looks very good even today and has a lot of fps with 4 players. Here you mostly play in a group and there is no kick vote. it is simply not needed. I can play solo with ping 0!!! If you don't feel like dying, you can pimp your character to super tank and will still do good damage. There is no ridiculous reset with seasons like in d3/wow/poe because updates are very large. and you don't even have to play them. In the end, they make a lot more money because players aren't frustrated. and has much more than 3x players online. Most people play there for 1-2 hours a day and certainly not every day. it's just not worth it. Plus, a lot of people take long breaks because they get their stuff quickly enough. " You can learn what to not do.
lol what? poe 2 has dodge rolls? please at least tell me that there are no iframes. oh boy it's gonna be even worse than I thought
| |
" But then it's worth taking a closer look at good games and eliminating all weak points. This was done in games like portal, overwatch1 and they outclassed the competition.
If they make another modern game like large game corporations from
spoiled creators with high egos who do not care about what the players who play their game want this game will fail quickly. Last edited by PozeraczCial on Oct 30, 2023, 12:56:43 PM

" Overwatch is literally the worst team game ever created. worse than when they would throw a bunch of slaves into an arena to fight lions. the price a game like Overwatch pays for modern/automated matchmaking can and never will be repaid in full. it's misery incarnate and it's only chance at redemption would be if it were studied by existentialists who learned something about the human condition so profound and radically transformative it bettered humanity forever. and I should know I play almost every day. " Couldn't disagree more. The reason why games like Overwatch still exist today is because that particular market is very difficult to break into. Games like Gigantic and Paladins tried and failed, and while the latter still clings to a single thread of its miserable existence, the former is long gone and forgotten. And GGG did look at good games when creating PoE. It's not for no reason that PoE is considered the spiritual successor of D2. But at some point you gotta do your own thing and have your own vision, and clearly people prefer Path of Exile. Compare D4 and D3 to PoE on ActivePlayer. Even with D3 + D4 combined they don't reach the numbers PoE has monthly. Of course that is only one metric, but the facts speak for themselves The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" I dont want a new game, i want the current game with the improvements they promised us.. This new game, i have absolutely zero interest in, none, nada, zip. |
|
" and who exactly asked for a completely new game that looks and plays nothing like poe 1? yeah, nobody. this is merely the result of ggg's "vision". can't force ruthless in poe 1? just make a new game with endless ruthless, lol gottem poe 2 was meant to be an improved, better poe 1, fixing most of its prominent issues. now poe 1 will still be poe 1 and we'll always have these issues, while poe 2 will be a cheap mix of diablo 4 and lost ark (sorry, I still can't believe that they're adding dodge rolls, shit gets me cracked up every time I think about it, the biggest L in the history of gaming, even funnier if there will be iframes). such an unfortunate lose-lose situation, it feels like ggg went for the worst direction in this one. I want to be hopeful but almost every single thing they said about poe 2 sounds horrible. that game obviously isn't an improved version of the game I'm currently playing and loving, so I'll remain very skeptical until I see its end game after all, there's nothing to be excited about poe 2 if you like poe 1 but don't enjoy games like diablo 4, grim dawn and last epoch because they're going to take everything we love about poe 1 away from the game.
