Constant crashing in towns since 3.22 update

Why don't they give any explanation? Knock Knock! Please wake up ggg
Ehhhh... game is almost unplayable. On DX11, FPS drops are terrible and random crashes on DX12.
Crashing in town pretty often, literally the only time it happens.
Played all of 3.22 - no issues or crashes, ever.

Playing 3.23 league and im getting crashes galore. Generally will crash every 5 - 10 mins, regardless of where I am or if in town / wilderness.

Virtually unplayable. Every other PC game works fine.

5950X, 3090, 64GB DDR4
Still crashing regularly.
Trying my best to keep playing through it, but it's getting hard

7950x3d, 4070ti, 32GB ddr5
having the same issues, load times very high then i get into the game and at least 1 time every map it crashes. not sure if its something interacting with asus or what the issue is.

I finally managed to fix the issue by clearing the config folder. Something must have changed between releases and remnants from the old config causing issues.

Have played for 6 hours now getting my second character through the campaign and haven't had a single crash, while before I couldn't spend more than a minute in a town without crashing. Here's the instructions I followed:

3. Clear your client's config files.
It is possible some non-default setting is causing your problem. Removing the client config files will restore default settings. The config files are located in the below locations:

PC (all types): %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile
macOS (beta): ~/Library/Caches/com.GGG.PathOfExile/

The easiest option is to move the entire folder to a backup location to test this solution. Moving the folder will also clear the client's cached data (see above).

I also cleared the cache folder in "%AppData%\Path of Exile" however that change alone did not fix the issue, but may be worth doing as well

**Note that this will reset all keybinds and other settings, which is a pain but better than crashing. Hope this works for you guys too
