Please dont make the same mistake in poe 2.

It's okay for small 3rd party programs and addons help the functions IN the game. It's wrong, terribly, TERRIBLY wrong, for 3rd party program (&community) becoming mandatory for such an important function such as trading.

This is always my thought every time this thread appears. Like I even have a few friends who do a modest amount of trading (which is already a minority), and they don't use any discord for it. Heck I had to explain to some what TFT even was during an unrelated conversation.

Only reason I'm vaguely aware of it is I read the forums and someone's complaining about it every week or so.

I get your sentiment OP, and I 100% do fckin agree that GGG needs to do something with the game in order to make game environment so enjoyable and full of quality of life, in which joining a community discord like TFT not mandatory. TFT created by the playerbase, in order to facilitate trading environment in which seen as problematic, and GGG didn't want to or won't able to solve.

However, you can still enjoy the game without joining and interacting with TFT. But most likely, you gonna lose some value in your bulk currencies / items sales.

Lots of "non casuals" also play the game just fine without tft. Funny enough every sort of stuff worked just fine during the old leagues way before tft was even a thing. People are just really heavily spoiled with this third party stuff these days. Or just fully supportive and into the shady stuff that's going on in there.

Tft is probably only good for certain bulk trades because the website lacks the option to bulk trade beasts and expedition books but that's about it. But you can buy both in bulk even on the official trade website in most cases cause not everyone gives a single care about tft and sells their stuff on the official trade website.
Services like quality crafts, carry services or lab runner exist even outside of tft in trade 820. amusingly even cheaper than tft. And you can even sell a service yourself just fine and likely even fill up your party much faster without the need to tap out into discord to make a shout for something.

PoE2 looks so far already quite promising in that term since crafting is close to not really existent. Maybe they throw in some decent trade changes as well or suddenly surprise us with a game balanced around ssf/playing the game without the option to trade in first place. Or maybe they bring one or another positive aspect of PoE2 into PoE1. The harvest changes was already a good start and I do believe that we get more improvements over time. Look at sanctum for example, you had to invite someone to your party in order to have them run your sanctum. Now it's fully itemized which is also kinda a approach to make tft "services" overrated.

Idk how to assess that. I have lots of friends who play poe and I'm pretty sure that every single one of them uses tft very actively. honestly I don't care much about the bulk trade stuff, I mainly use it for the other stuff

and I'd never trust a random in trade 820. even in tft, I only buy services from people with specific service provider badges. there's no way I'm trusting a random person in the game chat

Then stop playing, problem solved. If vast majority of the commmunity doesnt see a problem, you are the problem. You are not entitled for tha game to be changed to your liking.
You got addicted to something that makes game way easier and now you DEMAND for GGG to make it even easier by adding it to core game.
