Did they just say POE 2 Trading is going to be worse than POE 1?

Even if it drops third of the loot, if it takes longer than third of entire map, people will skip it.

If bosses drop connected maps, as was originally the mechanic in poe 1, they may not be ABLE to just skip bosses, at least not during atlas completion.
Trust me. They will skip them and complain that they are not getting maps.
If it take too long they'll just skip the boss after doing it for the completion, even if the boss has more chance to drop connected map it wont matter. People will just buy in bulk the one they want. If its a single one and there is a way to sustain it without killing the boss it will be even better for those people.

Forcing the boss to last too long can bite them back, its very easy to end up with one of two meta. People skip to the boss in loop or at least kill the bare minimum of monster.

Or b people ignore the boss.
Why am I still here
the trade system just needs to be more reactive to the traders current state so that way there's a bit more of an understanding by purchasers

Doesnt sound fun.

Most boss attack patterns are basic once you are familiar. There is a reason why the current PoE1 bosses dont have 2 to 3 billion hp.

Will see how it goes, if its fun its fun. If not, there are a million other games out there.

I recently started Bannerlord 2, it's fun. Hopefully, POE2 doesn't become a game that only caters to 24-hour streamers.
player agency, where?

"do you guys not have phones?" - blizz 2018
"do you guys not have 2 monitors, 3 overlays, 4 discord, 5 websites, 6 loot filters?" - ggg or smth 2024
"deal with it" - ggg, 2024

Unfortunately no. Average Joe can't live without watching paid streamers, he can't live without "LOL POG pepeLAUGH LOGIN KEKW" and related shit, he can't think out of the box and will blindly copy his favourite streamer's build. They measure success and online of the league by counting the streamers / viewers in PoE category, not actual online data. They create threads on the forum and/or reddit about them and in general these threads are very popular. GGG doesn't even have their own community managers and propagate new league announces through the streamers.

So you're dreaming about the thinhs which are not gonna happen.

Loyalty doesn’t pay the bills.

Respectfully, I don't think you have any professional experience with this, or you would know just how wrong that is. Small companies and large companies depend on repeat customers to stay in business. Even a small contractor's success usually depends on the reputation they have earned with prior customers.

If players are returning to play PoE again, they are what a company would call loyal customers. 1 loyal customer is worth 5-10 one time customers. If a company is banking on more money from new customers than existing customers, it won't stay in business very long. A loyal customer is not an exclusive customer.

...

On a different note -

As far as the concept of saving the game "state" and returning players to boss fights (so they can't log out to avoid a death) - it would mean that GGG easily has the ability to save the game for server glitches that drop a player - and GGG could restore them to just prior to the dropped game.

GGG won't be able to excuse themselves from that happening in PoE 2 if they are automatically saving and restoring from any time during a boss fight. I think not doing so, would cost them more in angry players than the other stuff.

PoE 2 may still turn out to be good, but the more "vision" they put into it, and less fixing what players are already unhappy about, the less successful PoE 2 will be.

Blizzard thought they could do no wrong with Diablo 3. A large portion of PoE players came in because of the debacle that Diablo 3 was leaving them looking for something else.

I really hope GGG stop listening to Streamers or other people that play for 10 hours per day, because it is their job and they want it to be slow so it is easier for them to waste more time.

I do not want to fight bosses 1/3 of my time in maps and run around in circles, this is not mmo/raid game. I never understood the idea that more time spend or something is good thing, if the game is good people will play more naturally. Good example, if you like to waste time so much then, work 18 hours per day, if you like doing not, sure, nothing wrong with that, but do not force other people into something they dont want.

This is one of the last excellent arpg games, do not break it.

good take, I can see people commenting that rank twitch language in global chats, and fgs, I can't tell what they are talking about.
