What I've seen from PoE2 so far...
Nothing you'll get nothing no matter how many supporter pack you pay.
GGG doesn't owe you anything. If tomorrow they come out and say we are closing down poe 1 its in their right. No live service last forever. If they want to put it on maintenance mode they can again no live service last forever paying a few supporter pack doesn't and will never change that. Why am I still here

Skimming the OP post i now really think Kopo wrote the majority of Alaloth's lore.
Samey ChapGPT padded semi-random essays trying to make sense. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks | |
The PoE2 info we'll receive or not during the 3.25 announcement will reveal the most of what/how PoE2 will hold its ground, since the beta will arrive during 3.26. As I stated within this thread, so far the info we have has been vague or missing. Whichever company will be the first to capture the majority of the market that's been in a migration mode will have the most opportunity to deliver a great product from a solid foundation.
Finally, since you love using A.I. the tech will also significantly reduce the cost and increase the production of games, which means those who have most experience in gaming will be able to deliver the demand of tomorrow. The A.I. will write the code and at a much faster rate and this is on top of other tech that's been evolving to make program/software coding easier/simpler and more efficient. " I don't think you understand AI very well if you think it will just write all the code. Models like ChatGPT learn statistical relationships but have poor generalization abilities. They struggle with complex mathematics. For example, the research done by GitClear highlights that AI can suggest valid code, but not necessarily reuse and modify existing code. This imposes a great challenge for long-term use, maintainability and covering your bases when it comes to unit testing. And that's new project stuff. Try teaching a model how the codebase for Path of Exile works. Wanna see you try lmao. Please refer to my signature if what I tried to convey is somehow still unclear to you. " Without reading anything he wrote or the AI summary, it's a good bet it involves being paid for playing the game. I have a better than 50/50 shot of that being right with OP. Last edited by Nubatron on Jun 9, 2024, 8:38:51 PM

A shorter TLDR from Chatgpt:
TL;DR: Path of Exile 2's arrival raises concerns about the original game's sacrifices and the benefits for supporters. Performance issues prompt the need for an upgraded engine. PoE2's success depends on offering something unique. Despite excitement, the author worries about its long-term appeal. They stress leadership in game development and the need to address competition. ******************************* Well, I hope PoE 2 does offer something more unique. Right now it still seems to be a more annoying PoE 1. 8 mod maps are the new alch and go. Last edited by zakalwe55 on Jun 9, 2024, 8:47:34 PM

" You know what sucks? I ENJOYED playing that game. Then No Rest comes along and does it all so much better, which is great, but I am a sucker for digital board game design, isometric combat, and soulsy grit. And alaloth has all of those. It was like this grand mix of heroes of might and magic, melee souls, and diablo. Ambitious and intriguing. But the writing. Dear lord. It wasn't *bad*. It just wasn't anything and it never occurred to me that its Italian dev might have used chatgpt to formulate it. Hmm. Oh well. Just one more potential as fuck EA rotting in my steam library. To quote quite a few people by now: why bother reading something no one bothered to actually write? https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" From an Old Bitch who doesn't really have a clue who you are and isn't meming on you like the others - people are using A.I. on your posts because your writing is incomprehensible gibberish. I've tried reading your opening post in this thread four times now and I still have no idea what you're driving at with half of it - and communicating with people having difficulty explaining things is what I do every day for my job. As best I can tell, you're not sure what PoE2 does that other games haven't done and you don't think it has any staying power. You're blaming that assertion on...basically everything from market forces to Genghis Khan. There's stuff about Great Leaders from History, stuff about expensive cars, stuff about engine performance, stuff about you being upset you can't own the noobs as much anymore, stuff about TwitchTube, and none of it is related to any of the rest of it. But in answerance to what I can make out of your concerns...PoE2 doesn't need to necessarily do anything 'new'. It doesn't need to do anything nobody's ever done before. All it needs to do is modernize the core identity of Path of Exile - a game of endless depth, customization and creativity mated to endless hordes of demons to vent that creativity on. All PoE2 needs to do is live up to what PoE1 could have, should have been, and it'll do perfectly fine. |
